Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

Jusin was able to put together a great Cast and Blast trip for us.  He does work very hard to put together a good trip.  Fishing for Peacocks, he did make several moves to various spots and successfully put us on fish.  Hunting for iguanas, again he was able to put us on them for a total of 25 iguanas.  Lunch was very good, and along with good weather made for a really good trip, would definitely recommend.

Captain Justin was awesome. Caught 9 different fish species with him during our fishing part of the trip. He knew exactly where to cast, what to cast, and how to work the fishing pole. The hunt part was amazing as well. Got 12 Iguanas, one being around 41 inches. Justin has the best eyes when it comes to spotting them. He’d point one out while going full speed in the boat. it would take us 10-15 second to spot it. If you want to do an iguana hunt in the Fort Lauderdale area, book Justin.

Great fishing/hunting trip Justin was a great and knowledgeable guide. He is very positive and always has a pep in his step. Me and my girlfriend came down from Alabama and stayed in Everglades city. We met Justin took us less than an hour. We did the cast and blast combo we fished first and then hunted second had a blast on both parts. Got over a half a dozen nice iguanas and at least 5 different species of fish one being peacock bass(my favorite). I’m very thankful to Justin for guiding us and I would definitely recommend booking him. Me and my girlfriend will be back.
