What types of peacock bass fishing trips are common?

Lake fishing is the most popular type of fishing for peacock bass as well as river fishing, inshore fishing, and flats fishing.

The most common fishing techniques are light tackle fishing, artificial lure fishing, and live bait fishing but topwater fishing and sight casting are popular as well.

How much does a peacock bass fishing trip cost?

Prices for peacock bass can range anywhere from about $400 to $1,900, but the average price for a half day trip for peacock bass is $898. The average price for a full day trip for peacock bass is $1,161.

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for peacock bass fishing?

The most popular season for peacock bass fishing is spring, and most anglers book their trips 31 days in advance.

Do I need a fishing license for peacock bass and what are the bag limits for peacock bass?

I booked this trip because my son wanted to catch some peacock bass and I wanted to hunt iguana so it worked for both of us. We started out hunting iguanas. It was fun but very challenging to spot iguanas hidden in the trees. Captin Brett was a pro at it. After a couple hours of hunting we started fishing. We were catching alot of fish but the peacock seem elude us. Captin Brett worked very hard to put us on some peacock and after a couple hours of fishing and a several different locations we got into some and continued to catch them for the next hour. Then whole trip was awesome and a great success. Thank again Captin Brett

Roy was an absolute blast to spend time with on the water. Many fish were caught including largemouth bass and some sunnies. I got lucky with a cancellation and it was a 1:1 experience. We both fished and talked about everything under the sun. Good times!
