About Your Trip

These trips are perfect for those coming to Miami to cross Peacock Bass off their bucket list. Arguably the most aggressive and hard fighting freshwater fish species pound for pound. I am the perfect person to help you catch these fish.

We will fish hard to give you the best chance to catch these fish. I always fish at a tournament pace unless specifically asked not to. I will run the boat as hard and
far as needed to put you on the fish. Most days these fish can be caught very close to the ramp but I will not think twice about running 30 miles to give you the best chance at achieving your goal whether it’s catching a trophy peacock bass or a lot of fish.

While my boat is tournament rigged, I guarantee all of my clients a comfortable trip. Comfortable pedestal seats will always be available so you can sit and fish if you want to. I will also provide water and ice in case you want to bring drinks, snacks, or lunch. I recommend you bring sunscreen (non-spray) and a long sleeve shirt since there are lots of low bridges that makes having a top impractical, so you will be exposed to the sun.

I have a strict catch and release only policy on my boat so if you’d like to keep fish this trip is not for you. This fish is the most sought after fish in Florida and I handle them with care and respect so that my grandchildren will be able to catch them as well. I recommend 4 hour trips with live bait to those who just want to catch some peacock bass and have a good time. However, for the hardcore anglers who want to catch them on lures I highly recommend an 8 hour trip as these fish can be very difficult to catch on lures, despite some people thinking they are dumb and will eat anything, this is not usually the case.

I offer trips for everybody. Beginners or experts I can guarantee you a fun and successful trip. I hope to see you soon and fish together. If you have any questions for me please leave a note when you book and Ill answer as soon as I see it. I love talking about fishing.

Hi, I’m Captain Randy. I’ve been fishing South Florida my entire life. My favorite kinds of fishing are live baiting for peacock bass and kite fishing for sailfish. The only thing I like better than fishing myself is seeing people catch there first fish or first of a species they’ve always dreamed of catching. I’m a laid back but results driven guide. The only thing I like better than fishing myself is seeing people catch there first fish or first of a species they’ve always dreamed of catching. I’m a laid back but results driven guide. I fish at a tournament pace and go as far as necessary to ensure a successful trip. I look forward to putting you on some fish!

Miami Heat
What’s your drink of choice?
Water
What was your last halloween costume?
Cowboy
What do you want for Christmas this year?
To catch a 10lb peacock bass.
How did you get started guiding?
I’ve loved fishing since I was 5 years old and caught my first peacock bass and while it’s still my favorite thing ever I was able to recreate that excitement of that first big fish until I started guiding. That excitement of putting a kid or first timer on a big fish and seeing their eyes pop is what I live for. I hope to make all of my clients love fishing as much as I do.
What makes you different from other guides?
I can cater to both the tournament angler chasing peacock bass on topwater and the first timers. I’m not strictly a live bait fisherman I have great success with artificial lures.

There is also a $15 parking fee at the ramp that you will be responsible for if you park. It is pay by phone parking. Guests are also responsible for having a Florida freshwater fishing license.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
