About Your Trip

Experience everything that makes Matagorda one of Texas' premier inshore fishing destinations with Zack. From expansive grass flats and shallow bays to productive marsh systems loaded with bait, these waters offer incredible opportunities to target some of the most sought-after gamefish on the Gulf Coast.

Depending on conditions and your preferred style of fishing, you may spend the day drifting productive flats with popping corks or getting out of the boat to wade fish some
of Matagorda's most famous trout water. Wading the flats is a favorite technique among serious anglers, allowing you to quietly work prime areas where large speckled trout feed in shallow water. Matagorda's healthy bay system is well known for producing quality trout, and every cast has the potential to connect with a true trophy.

The area's extensive marsh systems provide equally exciting opportunities for redfish. These fish can appear at any moment, whether cruising shorelines, pushing bait through the grass, or traveling in schools across shallow flats. Watching a school of redfish suddenly materialize in clear water is one of the most exciting experiences in inshore fishing, and these hard-fighting fish are always ready to put your tackle to the test.

Throughout the trip, Zack will adjust locations and techniques based on tides, weather, and fish activity to keep you in the best possible position for success. Whether you're targeting trout over scattered shell, working marsh drains for redfish, or sight fishing shallow water when conditions allow, you'll be fishing proven areas with a knowledgeable local angler.

All tackle is provided, so all you need to bring is your fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, and a willingness to chase fish across one of the most productive bay systems on the Texas coast.

From trophy speckled trout to schools of aggressive redfish, this Matagorda fishing adventure delivers the classic Texas inshore experience with plenty of opportunities for memorable catches along the way.
