About Your Trip

Get ready for an action-packed day of inshore fishing as you set out to chase a mix of Northeast favorites like Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, and Tautog! With flexible departure times and a wide range of seasonal species, this trip is all about going where the bite is hottest and making the most of your time on the water.

As you cruise the coastal waters, your captain will walk you through the basics of trolling
and make sure your casting game is dialed in. Whether you're a beginner learning the ropes or an experienced angler shaking off the rust, you'll have the guidance and support you need to get in on the action. With so many species potentially on the menu, you never know what you'll hook next—just be ready for anything!

You’ll be fishing from a spacious 36’ Harris sportfishing boat, purpose-built for comfort and performance. With twin 285 HP Volvo engines and a full suite of electronics including GPS, Radar, and Fishfinder, you’ll cover ground quickly and stay on the fish throughout the trip. There’s plenty of deck space for up to six anglers to fish comfortably, along with an onboard restroom for added convenience during the day.

This trip is fully loaded with everything you need: rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and a fishing license are all included. There’s also a first mate onboard to help throughout the day—just remember to tip them (20% is customary) for their hard work and expertise. At the end of the trip, your catch will be cleaned and filleted so it’s ready to hit the skillet when you get home.

Please note that all Sharks are catch-and-release only, but just about everything else is fair game if it’s in season. Whether you're chasing Fluke on light tackle or hauling in a hard-fighting Bluefish, this trip offers the perfect mix of variety, fun, and hands-on fishing with an experienced local captain.

So bring your snacks, your favorite drinks, and a good attitude—you’re in for a fantastic day on the water!

About Your Guide

Richard C.

Independent Guide
Step aboard with Captain Richard, whose lifelong passion for fishing has taken him from the shores of New England to the offshore waters in pursuit of everything from striped bass to giant tuna.

His journey began back in 1957 with the Scituate Saltwater Anglers Club, where he quickly made his mark by leading the club in points for fish caught both from shore and by boat. In 1963, he took to the water with his first boat—a 16’ skiff outfitted
with a simple compass, a watch, and a flasher. He’d head out to Block Island several evenings a week after work, dialing in the bite with an old-school approach and consistently bringing in stripers, bluefish, and cod.

By 1969, Richard had moved into offshore fishing and began targeting school and giant tuna. His knack for finding fish drew the attention of friends and fellow anglers, who encouraged him to pursue a captain’s license. He took their advice in 1970 and began running charters, combining his deep knowledge of the water with a straightforward, seasoned style of guiding.

Captain Richard has many years of fishing and boating behind him and has the knowledge and skill needed to provide you with a successful fishing trip. Whether you're joining him for the first time or returning for another run, you're stepping aboard with a guide who knows these waters and what it takes to make a day on the water count.
