About Your Trip

Embark on a truly authentic Maine fishing adventure with Captain Rich, where passion meets professionalism on the open waters of one of the country’s most iconic freshwater fisheries. Whether you're chasing trophy Pike in the Belgrade Lakes, hauling in big numbers of Smallmouth Bass on the Penobscot, or drifting after Landlocked Salmon through pristine northern rivers, Captain Rich offers a wide range of guided experiences that cater to all levels of anglers—fly or spin.

Each
full-day trip (for 1–2 anglers) includes expert instruction, top-tier fishing gear, flies, lures, and a hearty BBQ lunch with refreshments. All safety equipment is provided onboard, and Captain Rich prides himself on making his trips accessible to everyone—accommodating dietary needs, physical disabilities, and special requests with advance notice. Additional guides and boats can also be added for larger groups or custom adventures.

Your trip might find you targeting fierce Northern Pike up to 40+ inches in the Belgrade Lakes, throwing poppers to Smallmouth Bass on the Lower Penobscot (where it’s not uncommon to land 50–100 fish a day!), or drifting in pursuit of native Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout along the West Branch. If you're fishing during ice-out in the spring, don’t miss Captain Rich’s signature Jet Boat trips chasing Salmon and Lake Trout as they gorge on smelt—it’s a Maine tradition and a thrilling start to the season.

Other incredible offerings include Native Brook Trout lake and pond trips during Maine’s famous Hex hatch, and cold-water Lake Trout trolling excursions on glacial lakes at just the right times of year. Every trip is tailored for peak action, whether you’re casting from kayaks, drift boats, float tubes, or the jet boat.

Anglers are required to bring personal items, full rain gear, proper footwear, and a valid Maine fishing license (not included). Captain Rich requests no aerosol sprays onboard to protect sensitive fishing gear and electronics.

From beginners to seasoned anglers, Captain Rich delivers the total package—world-class waters, exceptional guidance, and a deep respect for Maine’s wild beauty. Book early to secure your spot, and get ready for a day that goes far beyond just fishing.
