This full-day trip takes you out to the nearshore state waters—including the legendary 8-mile rig—where the action gets fast, the fish get bigger, and the stories get better.

You’ll ride in comfort aboard a 24’ Sea Fox center console, built to handle both inshore back bays and nearshore Gulf waters. With GPS, fishfinder, and a live bait well on board, you’re fully equipped to find the fish and stay on them. The boat can accommodate up to 6 anglers, so bring your crew and get ready for a day of non-stop rod-bending action.

This nearshore run opens up a wider range of fishing spots and species. You’ll hit wrecks, reefs, flats, and the iconic rigs that hold some of the most exciting game fish in the area. Expect to tangle with Blacktip and Bull Sharks, lightning-fast Spanish Mackerel, hard-hitting Jack Crevalle, and bruiser Black Drum. You’ll also have solid chances at Pompano, Redfish, Flounder, and Speckled Trout.

Whether you're dropping bait on bottom rigs, casting light tackle near the rigs, or drifting live bait around reef edges, Captain Bobby will guide you through the techniques that work best. He’s got you covered with all the gear—rods, reels, tackle, and live bait are included—and he’ll customize the approach based on what’s biting and what kind of challenge you're after.

This trip is family-friendly too, so don’t hesitate to bring the kids along for a full day of fishing excitement. Just be sure to check in with Captain Bobby about child-sized life jackets or bring your own. You’ll also want to pack sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, snacks, and plenty of drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation—just no glass bottles or hard liquor, please.

Each person fishing will need a valid Texas fishing license, which you can easily purchase online before your trip. Some species may have limits or tagging rules, so check with Captain Bobby before keeping any catch—he’ll also clean and fillet your fish for you when the day wraps up.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.
Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
