About Your Trip

Head out with Captain Chad for some of the best inshore fishing and near shore rig fishing trips on the fascinating waters of Venice, Louisiana! Here, the Mississippi River spills out into the Gulf of Mexico, producing diverse and twisting bayous, ponds and rivers that are home to a large number of exciting fish species, and you’ll have the chance to explore it all.

Up to 4 anglers are welcome to make yourselves comfortable aboard,
taking advantage of the comfortable seating and the T-top that provides shade throughout the day. Captain Chad will take you to the most productive spots in the Venice inshores and nearshores. Once you get there, the wireless trolling motor will hold at any location while Captain Chad tends to all your needs; Baiting, casting, changing lines, netting fish, taking pictures, Chad will do it all!

Try a range of methods as you look to attract the bite of a range of exciting and delicious fish:
You can bottom-rig fish around oil platforms and underwater structures targeting Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Redfish, Speckled Trout, sheepshead, Black Drum, and Cobia. Or, do some nearshore fishing in the marshes and cane reeds on a popping cork for schools of Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder. You can also head to the rock jetties at the end of the Mississippi River where it spills into the Gulf of Mexico (Captain Chad's favorite spot!).

Step aboard the 24’ Key West bay boat, built specifically to peruse these waters. Powered by a 300 HP Suzuki outboard motor, featuring a GPS, fish-finder, VHF radio and radar, you’ll head to the most productive spots with ease. She comes with an on board bathroom, Ice box space for drinks and lunches, and a huge fish box to fill. Whether it’s catch and release or filling up the fish box, this trip will be one you'll remember!

You’ll be handed the toughest Ugly Stick rods with the latest Daiwa BG commercial reels. Captain Chad has strong braided 50lb test to power in those 30-40 plus lb bull redfish, and 100lb test for rig fishing rods to crank in nice red snapper. Kids will be able to handle fish too with smaller rods and reels they can handle!

Four horseman popping corks, artificial lures and dead bait are provided. You can also fish with live bait at an additional cost to take in some of the biggest hauls of trout and reds when the bite is slow on dead bait.

Everything you need for a productive day out awaits you on board. All you need to do is bring some drinks and snacks, and settle in for a thrilling fishing experience with Captain Chad. Come and discover the bays, bayous and Gulf of Mexico in true Louisiana style!

If you're looking for an inshore Venice fishing charter done right, look no further than Captain Chad. Born and raised into a local Venice fishing family, Captain Chad has been fishing his home waters as long as he can remember. He keeps his finger on the fishery's pulse, and always has a hunch on where to chase down Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and more.

Captain Chad fishes live shrimp and croaker under popping corks for trophy Speckled Trout and
Bull Redfish, and throws Carolina rigs for Red Snapper under nearshore rigs.

Captain Chad trips aboard his 24ft Bay Boat with 250HP Suzuki engine, complete with a head (restroom) aboard for the group's comfort, a fish finder, and GPS. Captain Chad also provides a cooler for your drinks and catch.

All safety equipment is registered and certified by the United States Coast Guard, including life jackets and a First-Aid Kit.

Captain Chad provides everything you need for a day of fishing: including gear and tackle. You will need to bring a Louisiana state fishing license; available online or at local stores. Dead bait is included in cost of trip; live bait is available at additional cost.

Be sure to wear weather appropriate clothes (rain jacket, light jacket), hat and sunscreen, and polarized sunglasses as we sight fish for Bull Redfish. A zip lock bag to store your personal items is also recommended.

All the Captains of this charter have grown up fishing and hunting the Bayous of the Mississippi River Delta.

Show me the part of the advertisement that it states that I’d have to pay $200 for dead bait. Your representative have yet to respond to my text to address this. This is how people get ripped off, by being told of added fees AFTER THE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!
