Today we had to adjust plans a bit with rain in the forecast, so instead of running as far offshore as I wanted, we fished some productive, nearshore, live bottom.
The action stayed steady with plenty of black sea bass to keep rods bent, and we also put one red snapper in the boat. Water temperature was 54, still on the cooler side, but the fish were chewing.

Captain Bill was amazing! The winds were a little rough so he suggested to cut the trip from an 8-hour to a 6-hour. I’m so glad he did because I was throwing up with those waves! He was very knowledgeable on the species in the waters and what techniques to use to catch them. He was so nice and personable and really kept us all engaged. He cleaned and cut our catch afterwards, which was a big help. His prices were the fairest out of all other charters, as well which is high praises since the fuel prices have gone up. Overall, great experience and we would definitely do it again.

We had a great experience with Capt Mike. The communication leading up to the trip was professional and informative. We met Mike around 7 in the morning, he explained the day and the challenges of a cold snap. The air temp had dropped 20-30 degrees over the past couple of days. Mikes knowledge of the fisheries were excellent and we were soon putting fish in the boat. We caught 30+ fish to include some nice keeper drum. From the moment we got on the boat, Mike took great care of us and pride in getting up on fish. He even cleaned our fish and provided them to a restaurant to prepare for us. Great day on the water with Capt. Mike.

Captain Bill was good. We did order an inshore trip be he wanted to go offshore. Minimal bait. Had 2 small bags of squid then we used cut bait from what we caught. Most fish were not keepers but did reel in a bunch of fish. One amberjack. Kept a lot of fish for his dog.
