Speckled sea
trout are holding in slightly deeper water near drop-offs and edges, feeding best during low-light periods. Soft plastic paddle tails, shrimp imitations, and suspending plugs worked slowly have been the top producers. Cooler mornings and steady tides have made for reliable fishing overall.

The sheepshead fishing has been steady near the inlets in our area with a wide variety in sizes. Our baits of choice lately have been fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and live Shrimp. I like to mix some cut mullet into the day on key spots to target Redfish. As the New Year begins I am preparing to target the same two species I spoke about above but typically see a few other species regularly like Seatrout and black drum. Although some days are cold to us the fish love it here in the winter.

Hooked up on my old school sliding float rig at 12 ft. With live shrimp. Fishing around docks in a lot of current. We've gotten to the boat before, but all four were lost, probably 15 to 20 lb redfish. We ended up leaving there with a bunch of small...

Hooked up on my old school sliding float rig at 12 ft. With live shrimp. Fishing around docks in a lot of current. We've gotten to the boat before, but all four were lost, probably 15 to 20 lb redfish. We ended up leaving there with a bunch of small Mangrove snappers that we didn't keep.
Hit the marsh creeks, and cast live shrimp on jig heads. And finished the day up with a 25-in red fish and a 20 inch redfish

Fishing has been on fire. Clearer water. Schooled up fish. Abnormal amount of tailing on the flats. Recommend throwing small and lighter colored as they can be rather spooky. Maintaining distance from the fish is highly recommended. Prefer clear skies and midday low to take advantage of sight casting.

Some great nearshore bottom fishing the last several trips. Keeper Black Sea bass, triggerfish and vermilion snapper are showing up in numbers now that the water has cooled off.

Helping out the state with some EFP Snapper trips and there's plenty of those out there. We were done with our
24 fish snapper limit in under 30 minutes.

We have had some fantastic weather, and with the water cooling, the bite has been red hot. Nearshore Bull Reds, black drum, sheepshead, and, for the kids, the whiting are biting. Offshore Cobia, Grouper, Black Sea Bass. Trigger fish and plenty of Red Snapper.

Bull Reds The bull reds are fired up! We’re seeing big bruisers crushing bait around the deep holes and channel edges. Live mullet and cut bait have been the ticket. Bring the heavy gear—these giants aren’t playing around. Now’s the time to battle a beast! 💪🎣🔥

Captain K runs a very good boat. He knows his equipment, the spots, and the fish. First class experience

Trip: Inshore Charter - 26' World Cat

  • ★★★★★
Not a good trip. Left feeling like a charter took advantage of tourist from out of state. Didn’t fish with li e bait, didn’t have options of fishing spots, and the last spot was refueling dock where boat was refueling while we were fishing. We could have fished off the shore without him at that spot.

Great Trip! I’m a seasoned fisherman but, I brought my sister and girlfriend. Captain Dave has two complete polywogs and me. He did a wonderful job educating the ladies on fishing and TOGETHER, they pulled in the largest fish on the trip! Great Time!

Great trip. Brian knows the marine ecology, and educated us about the various species caught at various times of the year. Oh, and the fishing was great. We caught enough Whiting for a large family and friends fish fry. Delicious!!

Travel fishing is all about getting chances. Michael can show you ten times the fish you'd find on your own. I had an epic day, in a nasty cold snap- these things just don't go together without an experienced and crafty guide. Michael gets it done.
