As things change to our Midsomer patterns. It’s all about the availability of the bait. That drives the fish bite. When we get the strong outgoing tides near the new and full moon, pass crabs are flushing out of Tampa Bay in big numbers. This is one of our favorite scenarios to catch Tarpon. It concentrates the fish and they are focused on those little crabs.

Also, the second hatch of sardines has exploded, and the flats are covered. The small Bait are exactly what the mangrove snapper are looking for solid catches of snapper daily now. We are still seeing our share of Snook. And redfish the over slot speckled trout have moved out to the edge of the grass flats and have been super cooperative anytime the tide is moving.

Some permit have been moving in. There's still plenty of tarpon in the early morning and late afternoon. Also been finding some cobias on the wrecks.

The offshore bite has been steady with mahi and tuna. Reef bite it hot right now catching yellowtail and grouper. Inshore bite has slowed down a bit with this heat wave.

Fishing in Key West has been good lately. As the summer rolls in the snappers are spawning and yellowtail mutton and mangy's have been eating well along the reefs. Dolphin have been showing up but not in great numbers as of yet. Just a few big ones here and there and plenty of tiny ones. Hoping for that to turn into bigger fish soon.

Key West has had perfectly calm summer camp conditions with lots of sargasso grass to be found that is holding a lot of Mahi-Mahi. You can pretty much count on filling the box with some nice fish on 8 or 6 hour offshore trip. The current hasn't been terrible so we've been able to do some really good deep dropping although snowy grouper was closed early. We're still picking up a lot of good blue tiles. And the Reef is still producing a very, very good red grouper, mutton, and yellowtail bite for the folks that want to stay a...
