Sheepshead season is in full swing and despite the colder days and extra layers for a comfortable day on the water, we are loading the boat with delicious fish. Sheepshead crowd into our area this time of year for the spawn and they are hungry and need to fill up to get through the hard days of spawn. Alongside the sheepshead, we are catching many other species such as redfish, black drum and mangrove snapper. All very fun and very tasty species. The water temp has been coldest I've seen in a while. The inshore fishery was almost nonexistent for a couple days. Luckily as soon as the cold weather turned, the mangrove and lane snappers slowly started coming back.
On the days with decent conditions and adventurous guests, we ventured to a bit deeper water looking for a little warmer water temperatures. We found some nice red grouper (season closed till May) and a variety of quality snappers.

On the days with decent conditions and adventurous guests, we ventured to a bit deeper water looking for a little warmer water temperatures. We found some nice red grouper (season closed till May) and a variety of quality snappers.
Beyond the reef had been decent. Not exactly all the designer fish, but plenty of action to be had. Decent numbers of cero, Spanish, and king mackerels, some cudas, and bonita have been caught as well. I heard of a handful of sailfish being caught as well.

Cold weather brings out the tasty sheepshead! Fishing them under docks, and deep mangroves holes. Nearshore has been producing them as well in structures.

Hey guys, been fighting some tough weather conditions. once we get through this cold spell, we'll get back in the water. We've been getting good lobsters and Lionfish. The cobia are here on the wrecks now and the patch reef fishing is staying solid.

The Redfish, sheepshead, and trout bite has been great the last two weeks. They're eating live shrimp. 20-40 fish days have been common.

Sheepshead bite has been really good and will only get better as these cold fronts move in. Targeting them near structure, pilings, rock pilings along the beaches. Using small prices of shrimp on a 1/0 circle hook and a pinch weight.
