The redfish bite is really good right now. The rain has cooled the water temps down into the mid to low 80s. Seems like a falling tide with live bait is working best.

Fishing has been great the swordfish have been fire along with grouper, tuna, mahi and wahoo. There have been a lot of pop up rain storms we have had to run around but other than that it has been great

Snapper season is starting to wind down but there are still some fish out there if you are willing to move around a bit. Inshore the Jack crevalles are name of the game this time of year. They will pop up around the bay and you better be ready with a swim bait or topwater plug to get after them. The heat has the redfish and trout bite slowed tremendously but some good fish can still be caught early morning or late evening.

Bull Reds, Bull Reds, Bull Reds
It's very hot outside and and the bay water temperature is threw the roof. Finding moving water has been the key to success. Fishing deep grass flats close to the jetties has produced some keeper trout in a mostly dead bay. The one thing that has kept my clients and I going through this heat is the bull reds. Anywhere there is deep water and good current bull reds have been crushing their favorite prey. Fishing has been really hard this week, it's the last week of snapper season and the rain showers have been coming in and out messing up the water temp! Trolling is slow right now, the wahoo are biting better than the mahi from deeper in the column ! Bottom fishing is ok but using Bonita for bait is a bad idea right now because there have been a lot of Bonita caught and a lot of folks are slamming the water with it so the snapper won't touch it! Cigar minnows cut and squid strips seem to be the go...

Red snapper fishing is still in full force. We have 23 days left of our federal season. We have been catching the Red Snapper on live Cigar Minnows, Pilchards, Boston Mackerel and whole white squid. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and one of the prettiest June and Julys we've had in a long time. The water is clean, clear and hot and the beaches are absolutely beautiful!
