Recent rains have created a wide range of conditions across Lake Austin, with water temperatures ranging from the upper 60s on the upper end of the lake to the low 80s farther downstream. Water clarity also varies significantly depending on location, with visibility ranging from about 2 to 6 feet. Despite the changing conditions, the fishing has remained consistently good.

Bass are beginning to settle into summer patterns and are increasingly grouping into schools around submerged vegetation in 5–15 feet of water. Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most reliable action, while topwater stick baits have been a great option for targeting active fish feeding higher in the water column. Anglers who spend time covering water and locating productive stretches of vegetation are finding the best success, with opportunities to catch multiple fish once an active group is located.
Hey Scott, fishing on the Guadalupe has been good with a mixed bag. The recent rains have increased the flows and we're getting bass and rainbow trout with other species too. The trout have been good on nymphs and the bass have been hitting topwater flies. With a cooler than normal forecast, good conditions are expected into Fall!

Lake Austin is at a normal level with clear water and roughly 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 72°, and bass are holding shallow, mostly in less than 6 feet of water around flats with submerged vegetation. Fish are currently in a mix of spawning and post-spawn phases, and many are grouped up in specific areas across the lake.
The most consistent action has been coming on drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits worked through shallow grass flats. Once an active group of fish is located, anglers are...

The most consistent action has been coming on drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits worked through shallow grass flats. Once an active group of fish is located, anglers are often able to catch multiple bass from the same small stretch of water. Overall, the bite has been solid with steady action throughout the day.
The Guadalupe has been fishing well lately with mild springtime temps. The flows have been stable after recent rainfall and we've been getting rainbow trout on dry flies, nymphs and streamers. The Guadalupe River is a great place to learn fly fishing and we welcome beginners and experienced anglers too.

Lady Bird Lake is at a normal level with clear water and about 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 68°, and bass are holding shallow, generally less than 15 feet deep. Fish are relating heavily to submerged vegetation in and around spawning areas, with some still actively spawning and others staging nearby.

While the bite has been fairly steady throughout the day, the afternoon hours have been slightly more productive overall.
Lake Austin is at a normal level with clear water and about 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 65°, and bass are in all phases of the spawn. Fish are holding shallow across the lake, and it’s common to run into small groups that can produce quick flurries of action before things slow down again.
The most consistent bite has been coming on finesse presentations, especially drop-shot rigged worms and Texas-rigged stick worms worked through submerged vegetation on the main lake. Anglers have been finding success by focusing on productive grass areas, where bass are staging, spawning, or...

January 2026- Lake Travis - fish are out deep on ledges and channel swings in 30 to 40 ft, fish very slowly with soft plastics like a drop shot or wacky worm, jigs with craw trailers also working well with a slow presentation, when the bass are feeding and a little bit more active we are catching them on umbrella rigs, small finesse swim baits, and crank baits with a very tight wobble like a rapala shad rap.

Been getting into some good white bass along with quality amounts of largemouth. Especially on this cloudy windy days when the fronts are blowing through. Targeting long main lake points with brush on them fishing over the tops of the brush and on the edges. Also targeting main lake drains with a Texas rig and a dropshot.

My son and I had a great time. We caught a crazy amount of bass. I can’t speak highly enough of Richard our guide and how Derek was great with communication. Will definitely book them again.
We had an excellent trip with Jake. He’s very knowledgeable and patient. Two of our three are brand new to fishing and he was incredibly helpful and made it fun. He was able to help the group catch a ton of fish, including personal bests for the more experienced angler in our group. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Thanks Jake!
We had a wonderful experience with Kevin, he took time to show us what and how to fly fish as we were both new to the sport. we were shown how to rig up and the correct way to cast especially in constricted spaces, and above all just a joy to be around. I highly recommend Kevin and we are already making plans to use him again in the near future
We crushed it with Carson on the Colorado! Giant tank river bass all morning long. Carson knew where to find em and what to feed em! So much fun and can’t wait to do it again. - Jonathan with Captain Experiences
We had an epic time with Carson fishing Lake Austin. We caught on a mix of different baits to keep things fun with worms, swim baits, etc. Was awesome learning a new lake and Carson had the tips and tricks to keep us on fish all morning. Can’t wait to run it back. - Jonathan with Captain Experiences
