The past month has been absolutely on fire. Finding live bait such as cigar minnows and scaled sardines, along with squirrel fish have been the keys to getting limits. Dropping a Carolina rig with 30-50 lbs leader and 3-6 oz weights depending on the current has been the key to success. Can't find the live bait schools, no worries chum up the water real good and drop frozen cigar minnows and you should still pick up a few. If snapper is not in play, no need to worry, schools of Mahi have been swarming the deeper wrecks and you always...

Amberjack season is opening up August 1st so get those poppers and plugs ready and hold on when those big AJ's start busting them.

The fishing has been good offshore and will just get better as the weather warms up. Vermillion snapper and Trigger fish have been the dinner table targets but you catch plenty of different fish. Weather has been a big factor but it's getting better all the time.

The Spanish are back! The Sheepshead and bull redfish bite has been epic this past month. I'm noticing those sheepshead bites are starting to slow down a bit. However, the Spanish Mackeral bite is hotter than ever. We are slow trolling tree rigs just outside the pass and catching 3-4 mackerel at a time. A little bit farther out on the reefs we are catching some early season red snappers and triggerfish on almost every drop. Several good Cobia are starting to be caught, so we are hoping for a strong early season bite to be picking up here in...

Well spring is working it's way here. The weather is warming up and the fishing is heating up with it. Inshore the sheepshead bite is still pretty hot on the jetties and bridge pilings. Drop a shrimp or a fiddler on a jig and hold on. Nearshore Bonita schools are boiling the waters already. Look for birds working and throw a gotcha plug into the water and hold on for a great fight. If targeting triggerfish and snapper, they are already schooled up on any bottom structure you can find. Drop a chicken rig with some cut squid, cigar minnow,...

Drop a chicken rig with some cut squid, cigar minnow, or any other cut bait and you should get bit pretty quick. With the red tide affecting our southern waters, Pensacola may be a place to go. So far we have had not been impacted and our fishery is solid and looking good for the season.
