Fishing reports straight from our guides in Espiritu Santo Bay
With recent rains, we've had a lot of freshwater input into our base system. A key for us has been focusing towards a higher salinity. Watch for your watercolor changes to key in on the salinity change. We have been able to pull out some really great trout this week, but do not be afraid to fish these dirty waters for your red fish and black drum where they are more apical to be in a brackish water.

For our trout croaker and soft plastic that put out a lot of sent such as gulp, am lures and others with artificial attractants on them have been very good.
Redfish have been good with cut mullet in mouths or back lakes.
Black drum have been scattered in potholes on flats. The typical bit of choice of dead shrimp on the bottom.

Been catching limits of trout over shell with live croaker early. Reds have been good in the back lakes on cut mullet and pin perch

Lots of tailing pods around the past couple weeks, tough light to pick up single fish. But happy tailers and backing fish make the clouds ok.

In the surf, Red bite is solid in the afternoon, picking up close to dark. Scattered black drum. Trout bite is picking up with clean water. Flounder are BACK for gigging

Hey yall! Afternoon redfish bite is still strong in the surf with trout starting to show up. Still catching some black drum but in smaller numbers. Flounder are coming back from the gulf, on the smaller size but expect them to start coming in larger numbers and sizes in the coming weeks.
