The redfish bite is very good, especially at higher tide stages. The baits of choice have been soft plastics on an eighth or sixteenth-ounce jig head. Look for schools of bait and start fishing there.
The trout bite has been good as well—it’s a bit of a hunt-and-peck approach. The same soft plastics are working, with colors like Golden Glow, Watermelon Red Glitter, and Kitchen Sink. Use eighth- to quarter-ounce jig heads.

The redfish bite is 🔥, only looking to get better as water temps rise. Trout haven't been as consistent just yet, we're getting a keeper here and there

Fished the west Galveston area. Bottom of the tide at dawn. Water off color, wind 13 to 15 mph. Fished some artificial reef on the north side with live shrimp and popping corks. Picked up a few large gafftop and some sandtrout. Moved down couple hundred feet. Caught some specs and a upper slot red. Got a few more specs in chocolate bay. Some black drum and sheepshead in cold pass when the tide was ripping in. Slow bite but put together a nice box of fish

Red Grouper and Vermillion Snapper are lighting it up! Already had enough meat in the cooler after the first Cobia of the year so we ended up releasing 4 nice keeper Red Grouper
