September is an awesome month for fishing right now since nearly every species is in season, Gag Grouper, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Triggerfish, Vermillion and Lane Snappers, Red Grouper, Spanish and King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, even some Redfish inshore! Some species will close at the end of the month but the fishing in October is still going to be on fire with all but a few species above still open season.

Fishing report... the bay fishing has been producing redfish on the flats with the speckled trout starting to move around some. Lots of rain has caused the fish to move a lot. The gulf fishing has been good with tons of action from catching and releasing tons of red snapper and some amberjacks. Plenty of fish for dinner fare from vermillion snapper to triggerfish and the occasional red grouper. Next week red snapper season opens back up and the gag grouper season will also open with amberjacks. The gulf will be booming with most target species being open for a...

Our trip with Captain Chuck and Roger was excellent! We wanted to troll a bit as well as bottom fish and they set us up to do both. Roger was great with communicating what we needed to do with our gear to bring up the fish. The air-conditioned salon was a great place to get out of the sun and heat, whether to have a snack or take a catnap. Roger had a great personality and made our family day on the water very enjoyable. We had a bit of weather that chased us around but that’s part of fishing. We would definitely book with these guys again!

Was a good trip, all things considered: TS Bertha spun up out of nowhere and caused Captain Brian to have to move a bunch of trips around, but we were able to find a day/time that worked. Would've loved to have caught more red snapper, but caught a mess of beeliner so can't really complain. Ernie was wonderful with my wife and 14-year-old daughter (neither had ever been on a fishing trip like this)--he was very kind, patient, and encouraging, and they both caught some fish. Brian & Ernie were very laid back, seemed knowledgeable about where to go and how to fish, will use them again the next time we go out if we can!
