Reds are showing up in the flats in big schools and are getting ready to make their spawn run. Flounder have been on channel edges in big numbers. Drum have also been showing up around spoil islands. They have been easy to spot. Dead shrimp on a 1/16 to 1/8 ounce jig head has shown great results.

August has arrived signifying the heat is still on and this tends to be the hottest month for South Florida. If you can’t beat the heat, at least beat the fish in a tug of war match.
Windy conditions for the local palm beaches continued until the end of this
past weekend, finally giving anglers a reprieve from turbulent conditions.
Snook fishing has been excellent along channel edges, docks, and sea walls. Moving water equals hungry fish. Live baits and DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail have been the baits of choice. Snook are ranging in size from 2 to 25 pounds.
Tarpon fishing has been hit and miss past week. I believe slower bite contributed to south wind and dirty water. Incoming tide cleaner water fish seemed to be happier taking live baits and DOA Terror Eyz worked along the bottom.
Deep holes and channel edges still offering jacks, bluefish, mackerel, snapper, sharks and many other species. Live baits great way to get fish fired up, but top water Rapala skitter walks and DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail also trigger strikes.

The trout have been great on croaker, the reds are feeding on piggies and cut mullet, the flounder and drum have both been coming on live shrimp.

Reds have been getting more plentiful. Cutt bait using skipjack
or mullet, after 10:30am as been working well.
I have had a lot of luck on popping cork early with live shrimp.
Black drum on dead shrimp has been good, just have to find the school of them

Trout fishing has continued to be outstanding, free-lining live croaker in 3-4ft of water. Redfish and black drum are schooled up on the surface and can be very easily sight-casted with a live shrimp!

The fishing could not be any better here on our beautiful Laguna Madre! We are catching good numbers of redfish in the slot range and oversized in the flats on lures and bait. Come fishing with Captain Mick and let him guide you on a trip of a lifetime!

Jerry was on time and ready to go. He asked what we wanted to accomplish on the trip, was friendly, funny, and very professional. We caught a limit in two and half hours with the largest red fish 29 1/2 inches. This guy knows what he is doing and does it well.

Our day with Cliff was great. Our group was two dads with 2 seven year olds. The kids had the best time. They each caught a few fish and he was incredibly patient and kind with them as they learned. We will be back.
