The rock shoals near Dollar reef holding trout and redfish on soft plastics and shrimp The rocks just across Texas city channel are holding nice trout on split tail soft plastic. The dike is holding Trout and redfish at night under lights. Bull Redfish and Big Uglies are at the end of the dike.
Galveston Bay-
Bull Redfish are in the channel on both jetties from the middle’s to the ends on cut mullet, sand trout, or crab. The jetties holding sheepshead and Specks with Shrimp under popping cork or free line shrimp near the rocks. Trout fishing near drop off or deeper water. Swan lake rock shoals holding sheepshead on popping cork with live shrimp or paddle tails.
Bolivar island-
Goat island drains “water runoff into the open water”holding redfish and trout on top waters early and late, soft plastics later. Fish the cuts through the intracoastal waterway from Goat Island to rollover. Yates Bayou drains holding redfish on soft plastics and live shrimp under popping cork.

The last few weeks on the water have been absolutely incredible. If I had to take a guess on how many red fish we caught in the last weeks I would say 250 to 300. Most of the fish we've caught have been in 3 foot or less of water on a popping cork and shrimp. A lot of the recent trips I've ran have had non-stop action from the first cast to the last one. With the late Summer patterns the fish are schooling on deep structure in 8 to 12 ft of water! Our main tactics have been using a popping cork with 3 foot of 40lb leader, split shot and a #4 treble hook with a live shrimp hooked in the tail. We've had multiple outings where our shrimp has been attacked within the first 10 seconds of hitting the water! The fast and furious action will continue on this deep structure for the entire month of September and in to the first week of October. In the previous years, once we get the first cool snap of the year the fish will migrate from this deep structure to mouth's of bayou's, drains and rivers to ambush shrimp, shad, mullet and glass minnows being flushed from the shallows. Just because the kids are back to school doesn't mean you can't come out at and have fishing trip of a lifetime. Get your trip booked and let's go make some memories! Tight lines
