The catfish are doing outstanding catching them in 12 to 24 feet of water around creek channels, structures.we are putting nice eaters and some ten plus pounds in the box. The crappie are starting to stack up on brush piles and bite good and putting some really nice ones in the box. And the hybrids are still ok but they will just get better as the water temperature drops more.

Another fun family trip on Lake Conroe today! 🎣😁 Had a dad, mom, and son on the boat today. Dad and son had very little fishing experience, and Mom had never fished before! Well, wouldn’t you know it, Mom ended up catching the BIG fish of the day at 5 pounds, 5 ounces! 😂🎣 The son now has a personal best of 3 pounds, 9 ounces to beat! Today’s customers were a father and son. Dad brought a small cooler and said 15 catfish was all they needed to take home. Well, they got their 15 plus a couple more! 😁🎣 After putting over 50 cats back in the lake, they were getting a little bored with the catfish 😂, so for their last hour they were ready to give crappie fishing a try for their first time. Had a father-and-son team out with me today for a half-day fishing trip! 🎣 They traveled all the way from England to experience some Texas fishing on Lake Conroe. Everything was new to them, and it was the first time either one of them had ever caught a catfish. Today’s half-day customers were two cousins. I really enjoyed meeting them and spending time on the water with them. Both were retired from the Air Force, and they sure enjoyed cutting up and laughing! There were several firsts for them today: their first time on Lake Conroe and their first time fishing with LiveScope. We had a few missed opportunities and a couple that came off at the boat, but once they started getting the hang of how to trick those finicky crappie into biting, they put together a nice mess of fish. Minnows were the bait of choice today....

Another good outing on Lake Conroe yesterday (6/19/2026). My half-day trip was with two customers from Louisiana who wanted to catch crappie, or as they call them back home, sac-a-lait.
We had a great day on the water, and the crappie were cooperating. My customers came close to a one-man limit, but with the weather moving in, we decided to head back a little earlier than planned. Better safe than sorry. We found fish in 15 to 25 feet of water, with water temperatures holding in the mid-80s. Minnows were the bait of choice. They had the Crappie Rods working!

We had a great time going out with Richard. The weather was not in favor of fishing. There was absolutely No wind. The lake was like glass. And the fish don’t bite when it’s like that. But that didn’t stop Richard from trying to get us on some hybrids. We finally resolved to catching catfish which we love. I highly recommend Richard. Great personality and very knowledgeable. My husband and 14-year-old son went out lake fishing with Ray and they had such a fantastic experience! My son especially had been really looking forward to the trip and Ray definitely didn’t disappoint. He worked so hard to make sure they had the best experience and most importantly, got them catching fish! They caught some great catfish and were both really pleased with what they managed to catch. Super fun trip. We booked knowing fully well that it was cold, not fishing season, etc. and still managed to catch a good amount of large catfish. Captain DJ was a great time, professional, and even let us stay out on the water a little longer than we had booked in case we were able to catch some extra fish… Thank you DJ for showing my friends and I a great time!!!
