Unlike diving ducks and puddle ducks, Wood Ducks move on a much more consistent schedule and they don't dally. Between first light and sunrise, big flocks move from the roost site to their food source, all at once. If you're hitting your marks, you can have a very efficient morning hunt! Lake Livingston attracts many species of puddle and diving ducks. Wood Ducks and Mallards, are the most sought-after here. They prefer backwater habitats, especially the sloughs and oxbows common in this area.
