Redfish madness
The last few weeks on the water have been absolutely incredible. If I had to take a guess on how many red fish we caught in the last weeks I would say 250 to 300. Most of the fish we've caught have been in 3 foot or less of water on a popping cork and shrimp. A lot of the recent trips I've ran have had non-stop action from the first cast to the last one. Milder temps have set in, making for a more enjoyable trip. Light winds have brought clear water to the surf.

Conditions are great for stalking reds in shallow water down here in Galveston. The wind has been easing up and temps have been going down and the fish are everywhere!

Gigging has been good with limits of flounder and with some good sheepshead, blue crab, stone crab claws and gar kickers. Water has been really clear in Galveston and matagorda area with the low winds in between tides.

Fishing in Galveston bay has been good. Lots of trout being caught in the deeper water over shell and near the many gas wells. Best bite is on live shrimp. Fish are also on shallow reefs in Trinity bay. A mix of black drum, speckled trout and the occasional slot redfish. Bull reds are beginning to school in the open water. Water clarity is good.
