Howdy, both Fly Fishing and Conventional have been great as conditions improved between cold fronts. Redfish have been plentiful on both soft plastics and top water. Speckled trout bike has been solid with some over slot fish mixed in. Soft plastics and gulp under popping court have been the ticket.

Captain Mikes South Padre Fishing Report 2/7/26. The bay fishing has been good lately. Last week was action packed. Caught some snook on soft plastics in deeper water. Black drum are schooled up and cruising the deeper water transitions looking for food. Redfish are starting to cruise the edges of the channels and adjacent grass flats once the water temperatures rise throughout the day. Speckled trout are hanging in the deepest waters along the bottom where grass and sandy bottom mix. Look for the margarita colored water or murkier mix.
