Fished the west Galveston area. Bottom of the tide at dawn. Water off color, wind 13 to 15 mph. Fished some artificial reef on the north side with live shrimp and popping corks. Picked up a few large gafftop and some sandtrout. Moved down couple hundred feet. Caught some specs and a upper slot red. Got a few more specs in chocolate bay. Some black drum and sheepshead in cold pass when the tide was ripping in. Slow bite but put together a nice box of fish

Fishing in the Freeport/ Galveston area is heating up. Popping cork and live shrimp has been effective near and over shell reefs. Knocker rigs against piers and bulkhead producing big sheepheads.

Not a bad week, it was windy but that's about all. Morning and afternoon bites are decent. Seeing lots of fish activity in west Galveston bay. Sharks and stingrays are back so be mindful of them. Fish are eating on live or dead shrimp and smaller paddle tails and jerk shad lures.

Fishing has been tough on the weekends due to excessive Fishing pressure. However, the fish are biting in the out of the way spots. Finding clear-ish water, baitfish and current is the key.

You might get lucky (as long as things are in-season).

Rodney was a great captain and we had an amazing time on our trip. Our group consisted of two individuals on the autism spectrum and my father with Alzheimer’s. He was patient, understanding and provided an amazing experience for our family! Highly recommended!
Leaf's Team put us on the fish! We got to limit on snapper, and everyone used their red drum tag. Awesome outfit all the way around! Boat was immaculate!
Captain Chad was an amazing guide, he took my family and I to all the hot spots where the Reds were biting. He had patience with my son’s fishing and knew exactly what to tell them. We will definitely be going back to fish again with Captain Chad
Jordan was a fantastic guide! He took my two young boys and I to all the hot spots and we maxed out our catch on Spotted Sea Trout. Looking forward to taking another fishing trip in Matagorda Bay with Jordan. 🎣
Jordan was great, very courteous or is on fish right away. We had some weather come in early. We regrouped he stayed positive and we went back out and continued to catch fish. He was great to fish with!!!! Definitely recommend Jordan.
