The grouper bite has been really really good the best I have seen in years. We are getting a lot of Red Grouper over 30 inches 20lb range. American red snapper are in but the fish have been a little scattered. A lot of big Mangrove snappers being caught.

The bite has been a little off the past couple days I think because of the full moon. We did catch an amber jack and a good size mangrove snapper out in the golf today. Last month was a great month for vermilion snapper.

Red snapper fishing in Clearwater Beach can be excellent during the summer months, particularly in depths of 100-150 feet. Federal for hire Red snapper season opens June 1st, and recreational season opens June 16th and runs into the middle of August. Anglers are allowed to keep 2 red snappers per person per day with a minimum size limit of 16 inches. Red grouper fishing can also be productive in the same depths as red snapper. Anglers are allowed to keep 2 red grouper per person per day with a minimum size limit of 20 inches. When targeting red snapper and red grouper, it's important to use heavy tackle and live or cut bait. Squid and sardines are popular bait choices, but other options like pinfish, grunts, and cigar minnows can also be effective. Bottom fishing techniques like drifting and anchoring can both be effective, depending on the conditions. Overall, Clearwater Beach offers excellent offshore fishing opportunities for red snapper and red grouper during the summer months. It's always a good idea to check local regulations and weather conditions before heading out and to consider hiring a local guide or charter to help you find the best spots and techniques. We recommend at least an 8 hour charter for red groupers and 10-12 hour charters are best for both grouper and red snapper.

Hey folks, Captain Jason here! Things are heating up fast. Water temperatures are rising to the level of welcoming all of those migratory pelagics to the panhandle. Also, the influx of bait fish seeking refuge on near shore structures has sparked a great bite from various snapper species, grouper, trigger fish, Jacks and a few others. King mackerel and Mahi will be on fire very soon.

Recent 6 hour trips. The Gags were released unharmed. We still have a really good vermillion snapper bite. Still some triggers around lots of red snapper catch and released. Spanish mackerel are biting early in the mornings.

Triggerfish season started today, bite was solid and finding a day for calm seas like today is hard but the fishing is definitely picking up! Trolling is producing a few blackfin tuna and deep drop is producing some File Fish

Nearshore has been our go-to all week long with calm water and winds. We are fishing between 6 and 9 miles out in 40-60 feet of water using live shrimp. Lanes and mangrove snapper, sheepshead, white grunt, red and gag grouper have been our main targets and we have been catching a boat full of everything. Groups have been keeping me busy baiting hooks, it’s typical to get one fish for every bait that hits the bottom and we’ve got some good fighters out there for light tackle. A two ounce knocker rig on a 3/0 circle hook and 40 lb leader has been the setup that has been working best for these nearshore species. We take advantage of these calm days to go nearshore, they don’t come often enough this time of year and right on schedule the next week or so is looking to be windy and choppy in the deep water. Finding the window to go is imperative.

Fishing has been good for this time of year. Sheepshead, White Sea trout and bull reds. Weather has been hit and miss to get into the Gulf, but we can go inshore as well.

Weather has been good at times windy a lot of the time but we are managing. Targeting sheepshead, redfish and trout inshore, days we are able to go a few miles offshore we are getting lane snapper, grunt, tripletail, red grouper and triggerfish.

Winter fishing has been fun as we have bottom-fishing on most of our offshore trips. The main catch has been catch-and-release gag groupers, hogfish, mangrove snappers, lane snappers, porgies, and grunts on all of our length trips. These species make for lots of excellent white fish for our captains’ to fillet back at the dock and send home with our customers! We will continue to target these fish until the water warms up and the trolling bite gets hot! Busy spring break in Clearwater Beach is coming, time to book your March and April charters now!

The redfish bite has been fantastic, also lately we've seen more mangrove snapper that I can recall in my 30 years experience. The flounder and sea trout bite has been pretty dependable lately. We appreciate your interest and would be glad to tailor a fishing trip to your preference. Thank you
