A recent Bull red trip with a crew out of Florida. Beginning (roughly) the third week in July through Labor and starting up again in October, the bull red fish show up in Venice, LA. We have been expanding our offerings here and making Bull only trips available to our clients during peak times. These trips are truly special and very different from our standard charters. Enjoy the pictures and reach out if you are interested in getting on the books for next year. The calendar is filling quickly! #redfishwednesday #GoBoldly #mercurymarine

Fishing being good for me and my customers. Seems like the colder it gets the better the fish bite, for us to catch fish.

The week before Thanksgiving I got to take out my mentor Capt Benny and his partner, Steven Williams, and we got on some Reds. Well, over Thanksgiving weekend, I was in Florida spending time with my daughter and grandbabies. And yes we got out fishing and it was good Reds and Trout!

Redfish have been on fire lately. Best bite has been when the north wind blows the water out of the marsh and the fish come off the flats. Fishing should continue to remain hot with the weather conditions remaining the same for the foreseeable future.

Fishing report from Ryan W. in Yscloskey, Louisiana Book a trip with Captain Ryan here.

Fishing down in Shell Beach Louisiana this fall/winter has been absolutely phenomenal! The redfish and speckled trout have hit their winter patterns right on time this year. We’ve been throwing a lot of artificial baits and some live shrimp under a cork. Finding the perfect tidelines with bait in them have been fairly easy the last few weeks. I have been stepping away from the crowds of community holes and venturing out to find different fish that haven’t been so pressured. We have been working some really stout speckled trout deep in the ponds, and redfish have been tucked up tight on the banks. This cool weather has them eating up and looks to continue on this pattern for a good while.

Tis the season for trout. The water temperature has cooled off enough to trigger the bite. The trout have been stacked up in the creeks and are hungry. Target them in the creek corners and oyster bars on a popping cork or freeline a mudminnow for the best action. Redfish are also stacked up in the creeks using the same tactics and bait. Numbers are sufficient to make for an exciting day on the water but most are under slot. The big flounder are in and ready to eat. Target them along the ICW as well as creek holes using a mudminnows on a jig head. Work it slowly on the bottom until you feel that bump and wait just a few seconds before setting the hook. You won’t be disappointed.

This year the redfish bite has been exceptional! The first Week I actually missed here in Pensacola because I was in Port Aransas, Tx. Fishing the B.A.S.S Master Redfish Championship where I was paired with Scott Martin. Since returning home the bite has non stop!
