Well temperatures in Everglades National Park are back to normal and their fish are starting to behave as they're supposed to starting to see a lot of trout redfish, snook, black drum, sheep, head, and snapper all over the Everglades and in the interior of the park on the outside Florida Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. I have reports of really big cobia about 20 miles out in the golf. Also big snappers and mackerel are biting pretty hard out in Florida Bay and the golf that's my fishing report for February 2 February 4 February 7, February 8 and I have a trip on February 12.

Fishing report from Robert M. in Biloxi, Mississippi Book a trip with Captain Robert here.

2022 Eddie called wanting to catch a cobia what's the best time?! I told him mid April but it's a hard fish to try for we usually chum for them and it can be slow.. But we can usually catch some shark bull reds jacks or something to pass time.. Sounds like fun so he booked a mid April day and we was gone give it a try!! Well about 3 hrs in on a 6hr. Trip we hadn't had much activity., Couple runs but we didn't connect so wasn't sure what the runs were.. Bout that time I happened to spot the fish come up the chum slick on bottom so I knew the pole closes to him was a live cat fish so I told him to grab it and pull it in a lil and when he did the cobia attacked it.. luckily I seen it and was able to unlock the spool quick enough to let the fish swallow the bait for a 6 Mississippi count then locked it and he set the hook and the fish bolted to the top trying to sling the hook.. He did good for his first saltwater fishing experience.. after a few trips around the boat we were able to gaff the fish and in the boat!! His adrenaline was a little high and w/ high blood pressure actually got a lil green so we called it a day.. The next year he booked the same day and actually caught a fish that was identical same time weight and all.. almost a carbon copy of the year before.. we did try last year but was unsuccessful!!

Fishing the bay for giant sheep head is now on! Fast action white trout especially for the kids is doing very well this winter too. Some pompano and Spanish mackerel are being caught fishing for white trout. Gulf fishing for flounder and fast fun light tackle reef fish like speckled rock hind, scamp grouper, and vermillion snapper on calm seas days is "the easy button". Red grouper is now open and there's good ones to be kept especially on a five or six hour trip getting down the beach on some good natural rock bottom reefs.
