Hey David, the fishing has been pretty steady even though we have water temperatures in the high 80s. Today my guest, a non-fisherman, brought in a 32 inch snook off the flats today! What a great find this time of year. I have also seen plenty of red fish this last week and the speckled sea trout bite is still hot as usual. No live bait needed for the Speckled SeaTrout, as they will hit soft plastics and hard Subsurface Bates as long as you work them correctly.

Snook bite is hot right now using live shrimp. Grey Snapper bite is also hot along with lady fish and catfish in between. Redfish bite continues to be a difficult find but we’re getting on them here and there. -Capt DJ

The tarpon bite is at its peak, or very close to it, for the season here in new Smyrna beach. Targeting tarpon off the beach we are catching Bonita, jacks, and kingfish as well. Inshore we are getting some adult tarpon as well as great numbers of medium (22"-26") snook as well as some over slots. Moving farther into the back country the sightfishing for redfish is already getting better and the forecast for the fall/winter is looking stellar. Wetter you want to chase giant tarpon off the beach or sight fish redfish and snook. It's a great time to get on the water here.

Fishing report from Craig K. in Palm Beach, Florida Book a trip with Captain Craig here.

Finally the wind machine stopped for the Palm Beaches. Calm seas, light variable winds made for epic fishing. The sea weed along the beaches was still present, but the calm waters allowed for the sea weed to settle and anglers to sight fish crystal clear waters. Beach fishing was fantastic the past week, calm waters allowed for bait schools to school in troughs along the beach. Plenty of bait signals predator species like snook, tarpon, jacks and sharks to feed on these bait schools. Snook could be seen cruising the shorelines in search of there next meal. Not far behind the snook, tarpon allowed anglers to sight fish and present live baits and DOA Terror Eyz in there path creating drag screaming action. Inlet action for snook stayed consistent, DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail in Mole’ rigged with a 3/8oz jig, excellent bait of choice as well as live baits. Tarpon, jacks, sharks and snapper all species that offered steady action . Snapper fishing provided plenty of action for anglers along rock jetties and drop offs. Inshore fishing anglers had a blast targeting big jacks on top water Rapala skitter walks, also catching bluefish and mackerel. Docks, sea walls and drops offs all great areas to target a plethora of species. Snook, tarpon, jacks always main target, but sometimes we are surprised with species we don’t see often in the ICW. This weeks surprise catch was an African pompano, caught by a JR angler. Well that is the fishing reply for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines

Fishing is starting to fire back off with fall very near. Redfish are starting to chew a lot better and within the next few weeks the bite will be hot. Water temps are starting to drop helping out the bite tremendously. Cooler water and lower tides these big reds start getting caught up in big potholes on the flats . Majority is caught on big ole cut baits

Inshore fishing in sarasota continues to remain very good. We are bringing home limits of mangrove snapper that are finishing out their spawn, the snapper will continue to bite for the next few weeks as we transition into our fall pattern. Snook are starting to make their way back into the bay and are transitioning getting ready to head back into the creeks and rivers. We are catching decent size snook at the higher stages of the tide around mangroves. Shots at juvenile Tarpon are being had early in the morning as they roll on the surface. Spotted sea trout are starting to make good showings on the edges of deeper grass flats, some smaller schools of Spanish mackerel and bluefish are also around the deeper grass flats. We are catching plenty of live white bait in the morning and that has proven to be key for a successful trip.

The redfish bite in the back bays of Southwest Florida is starting to pick up and will only get better through the end of October. Plenty of breeder snook can be found in the passes and along the beaches. Bait has been plentiful on the grass flats which is a good place to work artificial lures for trout. Tarpon can still be found but time is running out on the 2022 season.

Been catching snapper and Key west grunts and taking the smaller ones and going out to the reef and as of late. We’ve been catching monsters snook out on the Reef! All my clients think they need to book a full day trip but we can usually get all the fishing you’d like done in 4 hours with how hot it’s been!

Looks like the unseasonal wind is finally subsiding. Mutton snapper has been the highlight bottom fishing. King fish bonitos and mahi are around. I've been finding some Goliath grouper and large snook for the Instagram bros. Mullet run is right around the corner. Then the tarpon, snook, Jack, and blacktip sharks will be abundant. When this happens we always seem to find mahi offshore.

Tarpon and snook action has been steady on high tides and at night during big moon days. We expect it to stay active until September. In the big game waters yellowfin tuna is a secure catch and blue marlin have been slow but they are giants (500 lbs +). As female blue marlin are already in our waters September and October promises a steady 3-5 fish per day fish ranging between 300-600 lbs.
