Trout,Redfish and Snook Now that the waters are warming up and the weather is getting back to normal. The fishing is going strong trout and redfish has been our target species but just to keep in mind snook season starts in March you don't want to miss out on a great catch. For our trout and redfish right now they have been biting artificial lures. We have been using Z-man jerk shad's and Z-man TRD minnows. They Z-man jerk shad are on a Texas eye Jighead and the TRD minnows are on Ned rigs hooks.

Cold air! South Florida gets another cold blast, water temperatures dropped and the winds prevailed. Winter time fishing is full of ups and downs in the Palm Beaches. Slow down and stay persistent, you will catch fish. Backwater fishing for snook always great areas to locate fish as water temperatures are typically warmer. Mangrove shorelines, muddy bottoms snook flock to these zones, live baits, small jigs and twitch baits all tactics to get the strike. Anglers can also target sea walls, docks and bridges working the bottom thoroughly with jigs and live baits dropped to the bottom. Inlets and channels are holding tarpon on both sides of the tides. Live baits and jigs entice the tarpon to strike. Cleaner water on the high tide causes the tarpon to be finicky at times. Juvenile tarpon prevalent in the backwaters along mangrove shorelines, strike live baits and twitch baits worked slow near pot holes drop offs. Flats, rock piles, and inshore wrecks great areas to target snapper, jacks, blue runners, drum and many other species. Shrimp and jigs both create rod bending action for anglers. Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

The last couple days have been nothing short of fishy, any and every species you can think of inshore and nearshore. The sheepshead bite has been as good as it’s ever been. Getting limits and personal best fish for customers. Lane snapper are plentiful on nearshore wrecks and reefs, and the redfish and trout have been keeping us busy inshore with a few snook mixed in. The cold hasn’t slowed the bite down one bit. Fishing shrimp on jig heads for our bottom and structure dwelling fish and popping corks for the inshore fishing. Sight fishing reds has been the go-to on grass flats, pot holes and mangroves. We’ve been catching upper slot trout and getting a few over slot gator trout on every outing. The bite is bound to stay hot with some of these strong flowing tides we get in the winter months.

Happy New Year! Hard to believe January has arrived, wishing everyone a healthy, happy fishing season. Cold arctic blast for south Florida is long gone, back to fun in sun. The waters are warming up and the fish are happy. Tarpon fishing is turning back on water temperatures are rising triggering the silver king’s appetite. Outgoing and first of of incoming great times to target tarpon near channels and points, using live baits and DOA Terror Eyz. The tarpon are ranging in size from 5 to 50 pounds. Snook fanatics the linesiders are abundant in channels and along mangrove shorelines. Live baits and Rapala twitch baits entice the strikes. Sea walls and docks holding snook, also bridges great area to locate bigger snook. Jack cravelle have really shown up taking residence near channels and deeper holes. Small minnow schools have been abundant so the jacks are crashing these schools. Drum, snapper, bluefish and permit have also been around for anglers to tango with. Shrimp and small jigs near bottom get the strike. Well that is the fishing report for the past week. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

e have had some cold mornings in Sarasota Florida and the water is cold! We ended the year with water temperatures in the 50's in some places. With these cold water temperatures our customers enjoyed targeting Sheepshead, Snappers and Grunts on our nearshore reefs. On our warmer days we focused on fishing the docks and rocks in areas that the water was warmer in Sarasota Bay and were able to find luck targeting Redfish and Snook! We also have found a few Pompano as well as schools of big Jack Crevalle in our back country creeks.

Happy Holidays! Wishing you and your family a great Christmas. South Florida is finally getting some cooler weather getting anglers and fish in the holiday spirit. Back bays and canals are great areas to target tarpon using live baits and Rapala twitch baits. Deep channels holding bigger fish. The high outgoing and first of incoming tide, great times to tango with the silver king. Snook are being found in deep holes and along docks and sea walls. Live baits and DOA C.A.L. 3” shad tail best baits to get the strike. Fat snook and tarpon snook have been mixed together, adding for a mixed bag for anglers. The channel’s and deep holes have been areas to target schooling jacks ranging in size from 5 to 10 pounds. The jacks are aggressive striking Rapala skitter walks, creating awesome surface strikes. Mixed in with the jacks are croaker, drum, mackerel and ladyfish. Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed.
