Been catching mangrove snapper and redfish on fingerling mullet and mud minnows.

Fishing report from Chance P. in Dauphin Island, Alabama

The fishing in lower end of Mobile Bay around Dauphin Island had been excellent of late. Battling weather some morning but when we can get out there our crews have been blessed with luck. Trout bite has been good nearly every place we have wet a hook. Quite simply the fishing has been hot as the weather.

Fishing report from Frank B. in Stone Harbor, New Jersey

The fishing has been pretty off out front on the inshore reefs. We continue to have upwelling thanks to the constant southerly winds. The water temperature is fluctuating constantly from the upper 50s to the low 70s. The fish can't get acclimated and just turn off. So, we have been targeting the smaller fluke and little sea bass in the back bays. The beaches are providing more consistent action with kingfish, spot, and a variety of other species. There are occasionally larger sharks and rays in the mix. The back bays at night are loaded with peanut bunker and spearing. Small blues are constantly harassing them. There are some stripers around here and there. The bite is definitely not what is should be though. Things would bust wide open if the water would just get stable.

Fishing report from Andrew C. in Rockport, Texas

Rockport has been steady with good trout holding in the deeper water in late morning. Red fish are still hit or miss. Still having best results on wade trips. Lower Laguana: nice trout being caught on croaker and artificial up and down the king ranch shore line. Best bite is early morning. Once the winds pick up, bite is dying off quickly.

The fishing has been good. Catching lots of nice trout on finger mullet in the bays. Early morning top water bite has been excellent for big redfish and trout. Flounder gigging trips have also had good success.

Fishing is heating up here on our beautiful Laguna Madre! Corpus Christi Texas's bay system hosts one of the biggest bull red migrations. Beginning now and moving into the late fall and early winter, schools are starting to move on the flats that border deeper water on their movement out to the Gulf of Mexico. Nice sized trout are being caught on grass lines that border deep drop offs and we are catching good numbers of redfish and trout on the flats with plastic lures and spoons. Fishing should only get better as we head into the fall months!

fishing the upper Laguna Madre has been good, finally our winds have been cooperating and in return fishing has been really good. I have been wading and fishing out of the boat for Speckled Trout and Red fish, wether you are through in live bait or lures the bite has been good in the early morning either on the beach front or the bays. We finally got a little rain and the salinity levels dropped which will help the future bite. For live bait we have been using live Crocker and piggy pearch, the lure have been either down south or gulps with sent, I started using a different retrieve this year and it's been amazing to see the difference, just cast and reel like you would a spoon, bounce it off the bottom above the grass and if they are there, they will hit it. With live bait, we have been anchored off the shoreline we're the water color changes, fish the color change, that's were the fish have been, good luck and tight lines,

Although my traditional fishing areas for this time of year aren't producing very well, I have found some other areas that are producing . Some customers are wanting to only catch redfish and I have been fortunate to locate some . Some customers have been wanting speckled trout. And some days they cooperate and we are able to get our limit early before it gets too hot. And some days we have to work for them. Speckled trout have been best on live croaker. And the redfish have been consistent on popping cork and shrimp.

One good thing about this wind, it has heated things up! Literally and figuratively. The backwater bite has been solid! Topwater action and shallow fished weedless plastics and spoons have been producing. Loads of bait in the backbays, Trout in my immediate area are still hard to find. However the action is fire up the Neuse nearby. Topwater Trout, slot drum and a solid showing of trophy size Reds are being produced on topwater. I'll be transitioning to that area as I begin to run my Trophy Redfish charters in August

With the tide being so low the fish have been staging along deeper drop off and trash lines. Look for bigger schools of mullet in these areas and/or slicks popping up. The trout have been great on croaker, the reds are feeding on piggies and cut mullet, the flounder and drum have both been coming on live shrimp.

Fishing been good on live croaker working oyster reefs anywhere in the bay system. East, West, lower and trinity are all producing speckled trout on croaker. Just key in on moving tides for best results.

Fishing report from Jon H. in Galveston, Texas

Fishing has been excellent the last few weeks on Galveston bay. Lots of trout and redfish up shallow on sandbars in clean water has been the ticket for wading following the schools of mullet. Trout and bull reds have been thick in the surf when the wind allows. Mid bay reefs have also produced a solid trout bite in 4-6' of water.

Hey David, We are deep into summer here and the water is hot. Our customers have been enjoying catching Snook, Mangrove Snapper and Jacks in our passes and along our beaches. We have also been getting lucky with the Trout in the bay along our grass flats. The key has been finding the cooler water and schools of bait fish.

The fishing has been really good both inshore and nearshore. The shallow water bite has been good for spotted seatrout and ladyfish. Plenty of keeper seatrout. Mostly caught in shrimp under a popping cork. The nearshore shark fishing has been crazy good with both size and variety! Cut bait and chumming is the key to getting them to feed.
