Catching continues to be good on West Galveston Bay. Have seen several trout up to 6 lbs. Redfish have been dominating our box. Live shrimp seems to be producing better than croaker as of late. Milder temps have set in, making for a more enjoyable trip. Light winds have brought clear water to the surf.

Summer is slowly coming to an end here in Sarasota, Florida and we are excited to be seeing signs of Fall. Our Trout Fishing has been fantastic in Sarasota Bay along our deeper grass flats with tons of action from other by catch, Jacks, Lady Fish, Mangrove Snapper and Triple Tail. We have also started to find schools of Redfish along our shallower grass flats and mangrove islands. The Snook fishing in Sarasota seems to always be good as our customers have enjoyed catching Snook in both our passes ( New Pass, Big Pass) and along our mangrove islands and oysters bars on the higher tides.

Redfish madness The last few weeks on the water have been absolutely incredible. If I had to take a guess on how many red fish we caught in the last weeks I would say 250 to 300. Most of the fish we've caught have been in 3 foot or less of water on a popping cork and shrimp. A lot of the recent trips I've ran have had non-stop action from the first cast to the last one. If you want to come get in on some of this action book a trip and let's go make some memories!

It's fall time and the inshore bite is heating up. In the bays we are still catching some great Spanish mackerel floating live shrimp with about a 1/2 ounce Carolina rig. Inshore, the trout and redfish are hitting suspending jerk-baits and plastics such as paddle tails or curly tails. Offshore, it's game on for big schools of skipjacks and Bonita boiling up. Look for any type of floating cover and you'll find schools of Mahi and triple tails swimming around it. Now is the time to get those trolling plugs out and search for those trophy fish such as Mahi, wahoo, sails, and swords!

Fishing in Galveston bay has been good. Lots of trout being caught in the deeper water over shell and near the many gas wells. Best bite is on live shrimp. Fish are also on shallow reefs in Trinity bay. A mix of black drum, speckled trout and the occasional slot redfish. Bull reds are beginning to school in the open water. Water clarity is good.
