Captain Shayne was born and raised in Corpus Christi and has been fishing Baffin Bay and Laguna Madre for the better part of 35 years. Now a Captain he started his own charter business in 2021 with his wife Sarah. Captain Shayne is a true water rat with an enormous passion for fishing, and has turned to guide fishing to share his passion and experiences with young and old, new and experienced anglers alike. His gentle teaching approach brings a sense of calm and trust among the young and novice anglers. His experience and knowledge of the region opens huge opportunities for the experienced angler. He’ll meet you in Corpus Christi and take you to the area’s bountiful inshore waters, backcountry, as well as flats. The captain will know exactly where to look for fish and will make sure you have a great experience on the water! With great experience and a laid-back attitude, he’ll put you on the fish you are looking for – Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Flounder. You will be fishing by bottom fishing, spinning, popping, drift fishing, artificial lures as well as Flounder gigging, all on light tackle. The captain’s Majek flats boat is 25’ long, meaning you and your companions will not be cramped. Even better, he runs this boat skinny, in places most won't want to go. It runs on a 250 HP Yamaha engine, uses modern navigation electronics, and has got a livewell. Up to 4 anglers can join a trip. The boat is family-friendly so you can have a wonderful day of fishing with your whole family. You decide if you’ll keep or release the fish you catch. Great fishing trip. Shayne communicated with us prior to the trip answering an questions we had. He picked us up right on time and we got right to the fishing. Wind was howling and seemed to get higher as the night went on. We had chosen the night trip because that was the only time we could go and we love night fishing anyway. Not too many guides offer that. He took us into protected areas and we had a blast. Fish were not cooperating, but he worked hard to get us on some fish that were feeding. Got two really nice redfish and one keeper speck. Just want to thank Shayne for a great overall experience! J and J. …
