In 1980, Captain JT moved to the Destin/Fort Walton area. After fishing on the local piers he knew the passion of fishing was in his blood. Shortly thereafter, he purchased his first boat and began fishing the area local waters and tournaments. Later he tried other aspects of fishing: commercial fishing, back bay fishing, and offshore fishing. Trying them all, he knew his heart was with the back bay and inshore gulf fishing.
