Your guide will supply rods, reels, tackle, and bait, along with a
full lesson on surf fishing techniques. With years of experience fishing these beaches, your guide knows exactly where to set up for the best chance at success. You’ll be targeting popular local species like pompano, whiting, redfish, flounder, trout, and black drum. While sharks sometimes show up as an added surprise, they’re not the focus of these trips.
Each outing starts with a safety briefing, and your guide will walk you through everything you need to know before getting lines in the water. Guests are welcome to keep fish that are in season and within regulations, but be sure to bring a cooler, bags, and ice if you plan to take fish home. If you’d rather enjoy your catch right away, your guide can point you to local restaurants happy to cook it up for you.
These trips are family-friendly and all about creating lasting memories on the beach. Children ages 5 and up are welcome to fish, and younger kids are free to hang out and enjoy the day. Alcohol isn’t permitted on Volusia County beaches, but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, and beach gear to stay comfortable. Towels and a change of clothes are a good idea too.
