Experience the excitement of surf fishing along Florida’s beautiful Atlantic shoreline with a guided trip from Ormond Beach down to Canaveral National Seashore. Perfect for beginners and seasoned anglers alike, these trips are designed to teach, entertain, and give you a shot at reeling in some of the best fish the area has to offer—all with expert guidance and everything you need provided.

Your guide will supply rods, reels, tackle, and bait, along with a full lesson on surf fishing techniques. With years of experience fishing these beaches, your guide knows exactly where to set up for the best chance at success. You’ll be targeting popular local species like pompano, whiting, redfish, flounder, trout, and black drum. While sharks sometimes show up as an added surprise, they’re not the focus of these trips.

Each outing starts with a safety briefing, and your guide will walk you through everything you need to know before getting lines in the water. Guests are welcome to keep fish that are in season and within regulations, but be sure to bring a cooler, bags, and ice if you plan to take fish home. If you’d rather enjoy your catch right away, your guide can point you to local restaurants happy to cook it up for you.

These trips are family-friendly and all about creating lasting memories on the beach. Children ages 5 and up are welcome to fish, and younger kids are free to hang out and enjoy the day. Alcohol isn’t permitted on Volusia County beaches, but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, and beach gear to stay comfortable. Towels and a change of clothes are a good idea too.

No experience is required—just bring your sense of adventure. Whether you’re hoping to land your first fish from the sand or sharpen your surf fishing skills, these trips offer the perfect blend of fun, learning, and fishing on Florida’s coast.

Born in Memphis, TN Matt spent his early years fishing in his grandparents’ stocked pond and exploring the Tennessee River with his family. After Matt graduated from high school in 2009, he enlisted in the Navy, where he was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. During his time there, he earned his PADI Scuba Certification and developed a passion for ocean fishing and marine activities.

Following his service, Matt returned to Memphis, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History. It was during this period that he met his wife Casey, and together they embarked on a new chapter of their lives. Today, they are dedicated to raising their two beautiful daughters while providing a memorable and enjoyable family fishing experience for visitors.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Matt will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 2 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 2 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
