Had a great time fishing with Capt Ross and first mate JJ. We were expecting to troll but instead we spent the trip casting into surf at various locations based on information Capt Ross had from recent trips and other sources. This was a new experience for us ...Read More and a lot of fun-much more engaging than trolling. We also changed the pickup location last minute (our choice) because Capt Ross was trying to get us to places with hot fish activity. Despite a persistent fog/haze the weather was great and the sea was calm. We wore long sleeves, pants and hats and were comfortable on a day in the 80s with steady 10-15 mph breeze and getting damp from the fog and an occasional splash/spray. The boat and gear were clean and in top shape. We covered a LOT of territory. Capt Ross did his best to get us to the fish and kept us informed about what we were doing and why. We caught three stripers and saw many more. Overall not a huge catching day but very fun nonetheless and we went home with fish to eat. Learned quite a bit about surfcasting and shoals. Highly recommend this charter.
Captain Ross and first mate JJ were both excellent guides for myself and my 10 and 7 year old boys. We haven’t done very much fishing before this trip, but now the boys are hooked (Dad joke) and we can’t wait to book our next fishing trip with Captain Ross! Communication ...Read More was top notch from Captain Ross, even suggesting we come at an earlier time to have a better chance to get on the fish. The trip was tons of fun, and both Captain Ross and JJ kept us engaged the whole journey, sharing tidbits of the different styles of fishing other boats were using, and help us land this beautiful striper. Can’t wait to get back on the water again with Captain Ross and JJ!
We had a great time with Captain Ross and mate J.J. It was my wife’s first time fishing and they were gracious, helpful and very supportive of her initial attempts while kindly instructing her, providing pointers, and being there to help at every moment. When she actually caught a fish ...Read More that has not been seen in the area for some time, they were genuinely thrilled. Their knowledge of the ecosystem made it not only a picture perfect day on the water but a learning moment as well. We will definitely be going back out with them when we are in the area. If we could give them 10 stars we would.
Captain Ross and his mate, JJ were a great time! We had a blast hunting for the fish and catching them too! They were knowledgeable and helpful, accommodating all levels of skill. We are already planning our next trip! We would recommend calling captain Ross directly before you book, as ...Read More he switches up what he fishes for depending on the season and availability. He will be able to tell you what he’s going for at the moment! You will not be disappointed!
