Schedule: We prefer first time guests to arrive before 6pm the first night to get settled in at the lodge and to see the grounds in preparation for the next morning hunt. Day 1 - Morning Hunt We depart for our hunting location around 8am. Brunch served mid morning. We will usually hunt until noon, of course that is dependent on reaching bag limits. Day 1 - Afternoon Hunt Hunting usually resumes around 1:30pm and we will continue to hunt until limits are reached, hunters are ready to "call it a day" or legal shooting time expires. Day 1 - Dinner & Festivities Dinner is prepared and served to all guests. If time allows and parties desire we will gather around the fire pit or football game to celebrate and tell stories of the day. Day 2 - Morning Hunt Head out for our hunting location around 8am. There are plenty of great duck and goose hunting opportunities throughout the state of Texas, but Amarillo is in a class all by itself. Hosting a wide variety of duck and geese species, the area allows us the ability to hunt with beginners, as well as the most seasoned hunter. With our land leases, we have access to tens of thousands of acres allowing us to hand-select the best fields for each and every hunt. This process ensures we are hitting the right spots on the right days where large flocks of ducks and geese are feeding. Like our motto says, all you have to do is, “Show up and hunt” and our guides will do the rest. We currently have a maximum of 12 hunters per trip, but feel free to contact us if you have a larger party. Book Now! Limited spots in our Amarillo Texas location, our season runs November 1 through January 30 each year. Every hunter has been there and done that. It is our duty to continue to keep our clients, team, and partners safe at all times. We will require that every hunter, experienced or not, have the proper licensing, required education (if applicable) and state/federal stamps. We do a basic safety overview and evaluation prior to each hunt, if you are new to hunting, don’t worry! We will ensure you are up to speed with safety prior to departure. To hunt with us you will need to purchase a Texas hunting license as well as a federal duck stamp, a Sandhill crane stamp and a migratory bird stamp. Whether you want to target puddle ducks, divers, sea ducks, or take your kids out on their first hunt we have a trip for you. We operate a 20 ft C-Hawk for duck hunts and inshore fishing trips. "Mireya" is equipped to take out parties of up to 4. Our duck hunting rig is equipped with a traditional, Currituck-style scissor rig. Our decoy setup consists of custom-made Autumn Wings gunning decoys, Fowl Foolers, and some of our very own custom-made decoys. Head on down to Freeport Texas and experience a fun and memorable hunting trip. 5am I'll meet you at the boat ramp and we will discuss the plan of action for that morning. You'll get to meet Remi dog and of course she is always happy to meet new folks. And then we load up and head to the blind. Most walk ins are fairly easy and not too far from shore. Expect to see plenty of teal, we will also get to shoot at gadwall and pintail most hunts. If I've been seeing quite a few geese in the area we will throw a goose spread as well to see if we can get lucky. (It does happen) Safety is first always. And then having fun is mandatory.
