About Your Trip

Captain Larry Bell knows how to get you on trout and redfish in Copano and Mesquite bay! He likes to fish the grassy flats and back lakes using topwater baits, Wake baits, and Downsouth lures to find your fish. He likes to wade and drift these flats and backwater lakes so whatever suits your fancy, Capt. Larry can make it happen. Casting and retrieving these artificials is a lot of fun and makes each strike that much more exciting! This area holds trophy trout in the 3-5ft range and redfish around the 3ft range, and these big fish can't resist the temptation to whack a shiny twitching artificial that enters their territory.

Bring your waders if you're into stalking these fish on foot, your food and drinks of choice, and get ready for an awesome day of sportfishing with Captain Larry!

About Your Guide

Captain Larry is proud to run Rockport/ Aransas Pass / Port Aransas fishing charters using artificial lures and soft plastics. To him, nothing beats the rush of catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and other Texas inshore species on artificial lures like topwater plugs and soft plastics.

Captain Larry will clean and fillet your catch but encourages anglers to release any Speckled Trout over 20" and any Redfish over 24". Larger fish sustain reproduction and Captain Larry is a strong conservationist.

Book a trip to explore miles of Texas inshore coastline from San Antonio Bay up north, to Baffin Bay down south. While always throwing artificial lures, Captain Larry is happy to guide your drift boat fishing or wade fishing experience. For wade fishing trips, please be sure to bring your own waders.

Captain Larry rightfully considers himself lucky to be a professional fishing guide in Texas and loves sharing his passion with others. He's a patient and educational fishing guide who's equally as carefree and easy going as he is passionate about spreading his love of fishing.

My boyfriend and I had so much fun on our trip! Capt. Larry is very knowledgeable about the native species and their behaviors. We had never exclusively fished with artificial lures before but Larry taught us techniques to properly use them. I would definitely recommend a trip with Larry to anyone!

Really knowledgable and had lots of patience with my child. Really knew the marine life that was swimming past us. With the many years of experience he really put us at ease and answered my son's questions.

I had been trying to figure out how to catch reds and trout with artificial lures and realized that I needed a bit more guidance on the how. Captain Larry more than provided the information on now only "how" but also gave "why", "when", and "where." He also offered great information for both me and my wife for casting from boats, wade fishing, and from land. He loves what he does and it shows. My wife enjoyed the trip so much that we are scheduling another outing with Captain Larry for her birthday in a month or so. Damn good trip? YES! Hands down one of the best guides I have ever had.
