About Your Trip

Launching out of Placida, FL, Captain John offers guided trips through the pristine inshore and backcountry waters of Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande Pass, and the surrounding estuaries. Whether you’re sight-casting to tailing Redfish on the flats or drifting deep channels for big Snook and Mangrove Snapper, Captain John has the experience and instincts to get you hooked up—regardless of your skill level.

You’ll be fishing from a fully restored 24’ custom-built Aquasport bay boat, powered
by a reliable 200HP Honda engine. Outfitted with a Power Pole anchoring system, GPS, fishfinder, livewell, fighting chair, and a wireless trolling motor, this boat is tailor-made for sneaking into shallow water and holding steady when the bite is on. There’s plenty of room for up to 4 anglers to fish comfortably, and the layout makes it perfect for both serious fishing and family fun.

On these 4-, 5-, 6-, or 8-hour trips, you’ll target a variety of Gulf Coast favorites including Redfish, Snook, Spotted Seatrout, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, and even the occasional Shark or Goliath Grouper. Whether you're throwing artificials with light tackle or soaking bait with heavier gear, Captain John will match the techniques to the season and conditions to give you the best chance of landing quality fish.

All gear, bait, lures, and licenses are included, along with expert instruction and fish cleaning at the end of your trip. A cooler is available onboard for your drinks and snacks—just bring whatever you’d like to stay refreshed while you fish.

Kids and first-timers are more than welcome, and with flexible departure times, Captain John makes it easy to fit a great day of fishing into your vacation schedule. Whether you’re looking for a quick morning session or a full-day adventure, you’re in for a memorable trip with a seasoned local guide who knows these waters like the back of his hand.
