About Your Trip

Get ready to hook into a freshwater monster as you chase trophy Paddlefish on Oklahoma’s legendary Keystone Lake, launching out of Mannford, OK. With a track record that includes the last three world records and the last four Oklahoma state records, Captain Steve brings unmatched expertise and excitement to every trip. If you're after a truly unforgettable fishing adventure, this is where it happens.

These trips are all about targeting the prehistoric Paddlefish, also known
as Spoonbill—massive, hard-fighting fish that average over 70 pounds, with a real shot at hooking one over 100 pounds. These aren’t your typical catches; they’re bucket-list fish, and Keystone Lake is one of the top places in the world to find them.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 27’ aluminum boat built for comfort and performance, with enough space for up to 10 anglers. Outfitted with advanced sonar and fish-finding electronics, this setup gives you a huge edge when tracking down these deep-water giants.

Fishing for Paddlefish requires heavy-duty tackle and a unique snagging technique. It’s an adrenaline-pumping experience that’s totally different from traditional rod-and-reel fishing. Rods and reels are not included with the trip, so make sure to talk to Captain Steve about bringing your own or renting gear in advance. He’ll also advise on the best bait and gear for the day’s conditions.

Before hitting the water, be sure to purchase an Oklahoma fishing license, and check into whether a Paddlefish permit or harvest tag is required—especially if you plan to keep your catch. If you have questions, Captain Steve is happy to walk you through the process.

To stay comfortable throughout the trip, bring along non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, bottled water, and any drinks or snacks you’d like to enjoy on the boat.

Whether you're a seasoned angler or looking to cross a Paddlefish off your bucket list, fishing Keystone Lake with Captain Steve is an unforgettable way to experience one of the most exciting freshwater fisheries in the country.
