About Your Trip

Get ready to experience one of the most exciting freshwater adventures in the country as you target trophy Paddlefish in Grove, Oklahoma. Known for producing some of the largest Paddlefish ever caught, this fishery has set the bar high—boasting the last three world records and the last four Oklahoma state records. And with Captain Steve at the helm, you're fishing with someone who knows exactly how to put anglers on massive fish.

These prehistoric giants
are no joke—most Paddlefish caught on these trips average over 70 pounds, and it’s not uncommon to see fish well over the 100-pound mark come over the rail. Using advanced sonar and electronics, Captain Steve zeroes in on where the big fish are moving, and gets you in position for the best shot at a monster.

You’ll be fishing from a 27’ aluminum boat built for handling the heavy-duty action these fish are known for. With room for up to 10 anglers, it’s an ideal setup whether you’re going solo, bringing a buddy, or turning it into a group outing.

This style of fishing uses heavy tackle and snagging techniques, which means gear is crucial. Rods and reels are not included with your trip, so be sure to talk to Captain Steve ahead of time about bringing your own or renting equipment for the day. He’ll also let you know about bait and any other helpful gear to bring along.

Before heading out, make sure everyone in your group has a valid Oklahoma fishing license, and check on any required Paddlefish permits or harvest tags if you plan to keep a fish. If you're unsure, Captain Steve can help guide you through the process.

For a comfortable trip, pack essentials like non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, plenty of water, and any snacks or drinks you'd like onboard.

If you're looking for a high-energy, one-of-a-kind freshwater trip with the potential to battle some of the biggest fish in the country, this Paddlefish adventure out of Grove is tough to beat. It's the perfect mix of adrenaline, technique, and unforgettable action on the water.
