What sounds better than a quiet chain of islands in the beautiful Florida Keys with world class fishing? With Captain John, you can visit exactly that place. Spend the day exploring the beautiful flats around the Marquesas Keys as you chase down groupers, sharks, snappers and more.

A couple dozen miles West of Key West, the Marquesas Keys are a hidden treasure when it comes to Florida fishing. Surrounded by flats, wrecks and reef features, these remote islands are home to some of the best fishing in the world. The journey starts aboard Captain John's 24' Yellowfin in Key West. Expect a bit of a trip to get to these islands, but it is well worth the wait!

No detail will be left out or question unanswered in order to make your trip exciting, educational, and memorable. Be sure to bring any beverages or snacks you might need, and Captain John will provide everything else.

Captain John of Key West Florida is your one-stop shop for all things Florida Keys fishing!

The son of a commercial fisherman, Captain John spent many days and nights exploring the many wonders that the lower keys has to offer. Raised on Sugarloaf Key, located between Key West and Big Pine Key, Captain John enjoyed exploring these world-class waters inside and out fishing, diving, and exploring the many islands, channels, creeks, and waterways which make up what is known as the back-country.

With his younger brother James, Captain John would search for new places to fish and dive and would always bring home fish or lobster for their mother to cook.

As Captain John grew up, he began to broaden his explorations beyond the backcountry to fishing and diving reefs, another entirely different ecosystem full of different wonders and fascinating creatures.

As a young man, Captain John earned many commercial licenses and spent the majority of his time fishing and diving for lobster.

In the late 80's, Captain John created his own charter company and has shared his knowledge and experience with others ever since.

Captain John is thankful to call the lower keys home, saying, "this diverse Eco-system has and will forever be a magical place to me".

Really good time. Even tho the fishing was a little slow, captain didn’t give up really did his best to put me on fish and it ended up paying off with a few good ones at the end. Also had a few big ones break off. But hey that’s fishing.

Captain David did an amazing job I asked for an out of season Tarpon trip . He got hooked up after a few spots. Then we went to deep water and caught a nice Mutton Snapper.

Captain David Larson was nice, professional and best of all, he put us on the fish! I did the 4 hour charter and we caught barracuda, massive bull shark, trigger fish, grouper, and blue fish. By the end of the 4 hours I was happy and exhausted. Captain David was experienced, helpful and a genuine good guy.

This wasn't our first fishing trip in Key West but it was one of the best, Zack was a great captain, we had an awesome time. While other boats in the vicinity had limited luck Zack had us on fish all day. We had an amazing time on our trip. Our first trip with another company was canceled that morning and I was able to book another trip the same day.
