Carol, Doug, and I enjoyed our near-shore 6-hour fishing trip with Captain Joel and Ana Banana charters in Marathon. We went out past Sombrero Reef and fished for yellow tailed snapper and caught many. We targeted grouper on the bottom as well. Next we fished near the seven mile bridge for permit and yellow jacks. Last we fished a sunken ship for snappers and groupers. Captain Joel knows his business and we caught many fish including yellow tailed snapper, mangrove snapper, and schoolmaster snapper. With Captain Joel, your pole will constantly bend with great eating fish.

Doug, my best friend, and I had a great fishing experience with Captain Brad. Captain Brad and First Mate Jameson are very professional and enjoyable to fish with. The had rigs and bait ready when we arrived. The Southpaw was clean and ready to go. We left on time and had a fantastic "Dawn to Dusk" trip. We started with a quick stop at a buoy to catch some live bait, which was fun. Next we travelled to the first trolling spot. At 8:45 we had a bite on the left outrigger. 45 minutes, and many jumps and runs, later, we had a beautiful blue marlin beside the boat. We have little deep sea fishing experience. The fish was caught on 30 pound test line. Captain Brad and First Mate Jameson did an amazing job ensuring we caught and released the fish. We then continued trolling and around 11 Captain Brad found Mahi Mahi. We made several circles by the weed line they were under and caught 15. We continued trolling and along the way we boated a barracuda and a king mackerel. We did a deep drop and caught some rose fish. We fished a wreck and Doug had something big on the line but could never get it off the bottom. We trolled some more until it was time to return to port. Captain Brad worked all day long. He never lost focus. He truly loves to do what he does. Jameson was on point all day as well. He is relatively new as a first mate and has learned quickly and always was focused and energetic. Captain Brad has spent a lifetime doing what he does and is still passionate about giving people a great time on the water. He designed his vessel to be a great deep sea fishing vessel, and the Southpaw is. I will recommend Captain Brad to anyone. Fishing is a game of chance. All you can ask for is a captain who is knowledgeable and passionate, a great vessel, and a competent first mate. We had that experience. Thank you Captain Brad.

The guide was really good at getting us on the fish and multiple species and big fish! However he was kinda aggressive and yelled at us and made us clean up his boat every 5 minutes. 2 out of the 3 of us were new and never fished however he was kinda aggressive in teaching fishing techniques. He kinda made it feel like he caught the fish and then we just realed them in. But this guide does know his stuff and will get you on fish. On top of that not his fault at all!! But my trip was booked for the mangroves and captain experiences changed it to kinda deep ocean fishing.

We had a blast with Captain Brad and his crew Miles and Whitney! The boat had a toilet, lots of comfortable and covered seating for those that were not fishing. They were great with instructions and techniques on how to land the catch! They knew all the hot spots and we had enough fish to feed an army dinner!

Had a great day out in spite of some stormy weather. Captain Jake was an awesome guide and took me to where he knew I would "at least catch some dinner." We try to get on some Mahi but not so lucky. But Captain Jake gave me the option of staying where he knew we could keep reeling in some good eating fish. Captain Jake was knowledgeable, safe, and a great guy. Will be back here at some point again, and would totally recommend him as your charter experience.

Garrett is AWESOME!!!! He communicates very clearly and concise. He is considerate of his customer's desired catch and works hard to maintain maximum time with lines in the water.

This wasn't our first fishing trip in Key West but it was one of the best, Zack was a great captain, we had an awesome time. While other boats in the vicinity had limited luck Zack had us on fish all day. I can highly recommend Captain Experiences you will not regret it, five stars all the way, thanks again from the Charleston, SC. foursome.

This trip was definitely our highlight of the whole vacation. The captain was knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and highly accommodating. This made the trip so enjoyable. His first mate, Josh, was so efficient and explained everything he was doing so we could learn and stay safe. Both of them were so easy to have conversations with and really made for the best time at sea. We ended up reeling in 16 fish and throwing back 7 due to size. Fun-ish little story, one of the Mahi Mahi we reeled in came into the boat as half a fish because a shark bit at it as we were fighting it in. It was clear to see the bite marks. So we finished the day with 8 Mahi and 1 Wahoo, but even without the incredible luck we had on the sea, this trip would have been amazing. Josh filleted everything we caught and we gave away a bunch, and even the local restaurants will prepared it for you if needed. I highly recommend this excursion.

Captain John was awesome! He was super upfront about water conditions and left all the decisions to us. Had a quick backup plan for us since there were 7-9 foot seas offshore. Caught some fish waiting out the weather and then put us on the fish we were after! 10/10 would recommend

Our group had 5 people with little to no fishing experience. Brad took us to fish for yellowtale first, about 35 minutes away from the dock. He and his hand Miles showed us how to use the rods properly and we caught about 10 or 12 yellowtales. They were both very friendly and helpful, we all felt comfortable and had a good time. Unfortunately some of us got sea sick so we decided to cut the trip short. Brad had cautioned us about that beforehand and offered to move our trip to a day with calmer weather, what we would have done would we have had the time. We would definitely go with Brad again. He is a friendly local guy and he made the trip fun and personal, not at all commercial like some of the bigger boats. He knows the area and waters very well.
