Winter time fish are in full swing and yellow jacks are on top of the list. November-March is the best time of year to target this remarkable specie. They are a very fast hard fishing fish that run in large schools around the reef and shallow structures inshore. Yellow jacks are also great to eat making them a high value target. There has been a few Cobia being caught on the shallow wrecks this week along with snappers and barracudas. A live pinfish on a jig head is hard to beat to target those species.

We all caught plenty of varied fish species enough to cook that evening and freeze and take home. We plan on using Justin’s outfit for our return trips. There are a ton of options in key west but we don’t see the need to change at all.
