About Your Trip

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water with Sara and her top-tier crew, launching straight from the beach in beautiful Tamarindo! Nestled on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, Tamarindo is a world-class sportfishing destination known for its quick access to deep water and year-round fishing action. Whether you're staying close to the reef or heading offshore in search of monster pelagics, this trip is built to deliver excitement, comfort, and serious fishing memories.

You’ll
be fishing aboard a 28’ Century center console that’s custom-outfitted for both serious anglers and casual cruisers. The boat is sleek, spacious, and fast—perfect for cutting through Pacific swells in search of your next trophy. It can comfortably accommodate up to 5 anglers and comes equipped with a walk-around deck, a private bathroom (a real luxury on a fishing boat!), and plenty of space to move, cast, and celebrate your catches.

Top-tier fishing electronics like GPS, a fish finder, and a depth sounder help the crew track down the bite with precision. There’s also a livewell on board to keep your bait fresh and kicking, and Bluetooth speakers so you can crank some tunes while you fish. Cold drinks (beer, soda, and water), snacks, and fresh fruit are always included—and for ¾ or full-day trips, a delicious lunch is provided as well.

Fishing Options

Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned angler, Sara and her crew offer three trip lengths tailored to your goals:

Half-Day (5 Hours) – Inshore Action: Perfect for families or anyone wanting to stay near the coastline while reeling in fun fighters like Roosterfish, Snapper, Amberjack, Grouper, and Mackerel. These trips often hit submerged reefs and rocky structures teeming with life.

¾ Day (7 Hours) – Offshore Exploration: Want a little more time to reach the edge of the bluewater? This option is ideal for going after Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, and Wahoo, without committing to a full-day outing.

Full-Day (9 Hours) – Offshore Adventure: This is the trip for hardcore anglers ready to chase legendary billfish like Sailfish and Marlin (Blue, Black, and Striped). You’ll have plenty of time to venture deep offshore, troll for pelagics, and fill the cooler with high-quality meat fish like Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi-Mahi.

Conservation & Cuisine

All Billfish—such as Marlin and Sailfish—are strictly catch-and-release, and the crew handles them with care to ensure their survival. For edible catches like Tuna, Snapper, Wahoo, and Mahi-Mahi, the crew will expertly clean and fillet your fish right on the boat at no extra charge. Want to enjoy your catch right away? They can recommend local restaurants happy to prepare your fresh fish, or even arrange for a private chef to cook it for you at your rental.

Know Before You Go

Fishing License Required: Costa Rica law requires a fishing license, which costs $17 per person for 8 days. You can purchase it online ahead of time from Incopesca.

Tipping Etiquette: It’s customary to tip your Captain and crew between 15–20% based on your overall experience—not just the number of fish caught. Fishing can be unpredictable, but you can count on Sara and her team to give it 110% every single trip.

So pack your sunblock, grab your lucky hat, and meet the crew on the beach at 7:00 AM for a 7:15 departure. Whether you’re in it for the fight, the views, or just the thrill of being out on the open water, Sara and her crew are here to make your Tamarindo fishing trip one to remember!
