During the colder months, Lake Texoma transforms into a prime hunting ground for trophy Stripers. These fish school up deep and hit hard, and Captain Zach knows exactly where to find them. On this trip, you’ll be using artificial lures exclusively—no bait needed—so expect lots of casting, jigging, and trolling action. Whether you're working a slab spoon through a bait ball or slow-drifting across deep water with heavy gear, this trip focuses on technique and timing to hook into quality fish.

Along with Striped Bass, you might run into hefty Catfish and aggressive White Bass mixed in with the schools. These colder months often mean fewer boats on the water and less fishing pressure—giving you the perfect shot at landing a personal best.

You’ll fish from Captain Zach’s 24’ bay boat, built for stability and comfort even on crisp winter days. With space for up to 8 passengers, it’s loaded with serious fish-finding tech like GPS, radar, a fishfinder, and a wireless trolling motor for silent approaches. The live bait well won’t get much use on this lure-only trip, but you’ll still have access to an ice box for your catch and plenty of deck space to move around as you chase down those big winter schools.

Rods, reels, tackle, and all the lures you'll need are provided—no need to bring a thing except your A-game. And when you land that cooler-filling catch, Captain Zach will clean and fillet it dockside at no extra charge.

This trip runs early and late in the day when winter fish are most active, and it’s a great choice for both seasoned anglers and those looking to sharpen their skills. Just make sure to dress in layers and bring gloves, a beanie, and a windproof jacket. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a thermos of something warm never hurt either.

Don’t forget: a valid Oklahoma fishing license is required for everyone in your group—easy to get online or just ask Captain Zach for help. He’ll also have water onboard, and you’re welcome to bring snacks or drinks (alcohol is okay in moderation, just skip the glass and hard liquor).

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 3 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 3 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
