This 38’ express sportfisher is built for action and comfort, offering fast access to the deep blue Pacific off Costa Rica’s coast—home to some of the most productive big game fishing grounds in the world.

Powered by twin Detroit turbo diesels and freshly overhauled in 2023 and 2024, this boat is all about performance. Whether you're heading out for Sailfish, chasing down a Marlin slam, or hoping to hook into Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, or Mahi Mahi, this boat gets you to the fish quickly and comfortably. With a 40-mile operating radius—the maximum allowed for day trips—you’ll be right in the zone while other boats are still running.

The deck is rigged and ready with a full-size fighting chair, double spreader outriggers, tuna tubes, and top-tier Penn International and Shimano gear. Electronics include GPS, fishfinder, and full communication and safety systems—life rafts, radios, life jackets, and more—so you’re covered from every angle. Inside, there’s a private head with a shower, a V-berth to rest between bites, and plenty of shade with cushioned seating for up to seven guests. Want to set the vibe? Bring your playlist—we’ll hook it up to the onboard sound system!

Captain Arturo is one of the most knowledgeable and respected captains on this stretch of coast. With decades of local experience, he knows these waters inside and out. On deck, mates Javier and Victor are bilingual, professional, and ready to make your trip fun, efficient, and unforgettable. From teaching first-timers to backing up seasoned anglers in the chair, this crew works hard to make every trip count.

All tackle, bait, and lures are provided. You'll be fishing a wide range of techniques depending on the conditions and what’s biting—including trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, fly fishing (please bring your own fly gear), and both light and heavy tackle setups. Billfish like Sailfish and Marlin are strictly catch and release, with proven techniques used to ensure a healthy release every time. For edible species like Tuna, Snapper, or Mahi Mahi, the crew will gladly clean and ice your catch so you can enjoy a fresh local meal after your trip.

All trips include bottled water, sodas, beer, and ice. Half-day trips (5 hours) come with fresh fruit and snacks, ¾-day trips (7 hours) and full-day trips (9 hours) include a box lunch. Just bring sun protection, your favorite shades, and a readiness for big game action.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Randy will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
