Step aboard a fast, stable, and fully outfitted 27’ Dusky designed to get you on the fish quickly and comfortably out of Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Powered by twin 250 HP Cummins diesel engines—freshly overhauled in late 2023 and 2024—this vessel offers a smooth, reliable ride whether you’re heading offshore for pelagic giants or sticking closer in for inshore action.

With a wide 11’+ beam, shaded seating, and a spacious cockpit, there's plenty of room to move and relax. The boat comes fully rigged with outriggers, a fighting chair, a tower for spotting fish, and full electronics and communication gear. There’s even a private head inside the cabin for added comfort. You can also bring your own music—just connect your device to the onboard speakers and enjoy the ride.

At the helm is Captain Javier, who has been fishing these waters since the 1990s. Backed by his experienced mate, this duo runs a smooth and efficient operation that’s as welcoming for families and first-timers as it is for serious anglers. Both crew members speak English and are passionate about putting you on fish, whether you're trolling for big game offshore or targeting inshore species on light tackle.

All gear is top-of-the-line, with Penn International and Shimano tackle provided. Live bait is caught fresh daily, and all necessary fishing licenses are included.

Depending on the season and your goals, you’ll be able to target a wide variety of species like Marlin (Blue, Black, and Striped), Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Wahoo, Grouper, and Almaco Jack. The crew is skilled in a wide range of techniques including trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, spinning, fly fishing, and both light and heavy tackle setups. Billfish are safely released using best practices, and edible fish can be cleaned and kept on ice so you can enjoy them later at a local restaurant.

Your trip includes snacks like fresh fruit, chips, and brownies, with drinks including water, soda, beer, ginger ale, and tea. On ¾ and full-day trips, you’ll also be served a tasty boxed lunch to keep you fueled up and ready for action.

Whether you're checking Marlin off your bucket list or just enjoying a fun day on the water, Captain Javier and his crew will make sure your experience is both exciting and unforgettable. Tips of 10–20% for the crew are customary and always appreciated. Let’s go fishing!

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Randy will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.

After booking your trip, we'll connect you directly with your guide to discuss additional details. In the meantime, our team is here to answer any questions via email, text, or phone.
