Join Captain Robert for a custom guided catfishing trip on Virginia's Rappahannock and James Rivers. Whether you're looking to fill a cooler with fresh fish or target the biggest catfish of your life, Captain Robert offers trips tailored to your goals and experience level.

Trips begin at either 7:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. and are open to anglers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced fishermen. You'll fish from an 18' Pro Craft river boat that is federally permitted and well suited for navigating Virginia's productive river systems. Guests are welcome to connect their devices and enjoy Bluetooth music during the trip, and a grill is available upon request.

Virginia's tidal rivers are known for their excellent Blue Catfish fishing, providing opportunities for both numbers of fish and trophy-sized catches. Captain Robert will tailor the day's approach based on current conditions and what you'd like to get out of the trip.

In addition to guided fishing trips, Captain Robert also offers instructional fishing classes for anglers looking to improve their catfishing skills. These hands-on sessions cover practical topics such as bait selection, rigging, locating fish, and other techniques that can help anglers become more successful on the water.

Everything needed for fishing is included, including rods, reels, tackle, and live bait. Fish cleaning is available for an additional fee. Please note that snacks and drinks are not provided, so you're encouraged to bring any food or beverages you'd like during the trip. We also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Whether you're looking to learn, catch fish for the table, or pursue a trophy catfish, Captain Robert will work hard to help you make the most of your time on the water.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
